Senate Vote To Disapprove Release of Remaining TARP Funds FAILS
« on: January 16, 2009, 03:51:22 AM »

The U.S. Senate just failed to pass a disapproval resolution relating to the release of the remaining $350 billion in Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funds.  CFA and other groups had called on Congress to support the resolution, because the first half of the funds has neither been used to fulfill the initial purpose of purchasing toxic assets, nor has it lived up to transparency and accountability standards the American people deserve and were promised.

The resolution provided an opportunity to pause the bailout-mania and take a step back to remember that government should not be in the business of being the insurer of last resort, of picking winners and losers. Unfortunately, the Senate did not take this opportunity. Here's the vote tally.

Actually, yea is the "good" vote...they were voting to not release more funds.  The "nays" won.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Voinovich voted Nay just like to good little libtard that he is.  I am so glad that he has decided not to run for re-election.

no point in even looking at my two senators... I'm profoundly depressed at what my sorry commonwealth has elected.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

I am almost afraid to ask, but what does it mean when it says, "Present, Giving Live Pair"? (Hatch, R-UT is an example)
