Nice!  So who's the first one to get a speeding ticket in the new car? :-)

That's still up for grabs Chris.  :-)

I like that color even more than the one on the website.  My old car was a similar color (moonlight mica metallic was the fancy name for my car's color).  Grey is NOT a dull color (despite what some people I know think  ::) ), when matched with the right kind of car.  :cheersmate:

Nice looking car. I thought you got a car to haul the dogs around in though. You get rid of the Grey hounds and get some Chihuahua's  :evillaugh:
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

It has two features that we'll never use. One is a ski bag. The other is a sort of barrier that pulls up and attaches to keep the dogs in the back. The :-) problem is there's no way that 3 greyhounds could fit into the little area back there. They barely fit when you put the back seats down. I've got a comforter and big blanket for the back, so they don't scratch up the back of the seats. The 5 series had a sort of carpeting on the back, so when the seats were down, it was continuous with the rear carpeted area. The backs of these seats are hard, so it's going to take lots of cushioning for the little princesses and prince.

We could put lots of chichuahuas in there.

I'm very upset. The dealer had the car detailed so beautifully and it was just gleaming---that is, til I had to go to work today and get it out in the spitting rain/sleet this morning and the downpour this afternoon.

They said the temps would raise this afternoon and there would be no trouble with the rain. When I got home let the dogs out. They all promptly came back into the house. Poor Blue did the splits. I thought he wouldn't be able to get up. He did the splits 2 times on his way back to the house (he never got off the patio) and started it again on the little stoop. I had to grab him by the collar and get him in to avoid split #3.

I would have SR buy you another BMW to use as a winter car, and put the new car up until Spring.  :-)

We got a "new" BMW yesterday! (thought I'd piggy back onto this thread)  It's an old one (a 92), but the price was right, and Mr Flame's free one fro ma couple years ago is starting to get extremely tired.  The old on will now be parked in the garage, and it is the "project" for Mr Flame and my 13 yr old, to tear dow nthe engine and rebuild it, and fix everything up...then, when he turns 16, he can have the car.

The new one is a standard, so I get the joy of treaching my daughter to drive a stick, and hopefully she will end up with that car, once we can afford to get another car for dad.

What model is the "new" one? Smart move. Getting a new one is so expensive, hate absorbing that depreciation. A neighbor got a '99 wagon like my old one for really cheap. It had been in a flood, but he thought it was a good car. He got it a couple years ago and it's still running well.

I used to have a BMW M3 with a stick. I really enjoyed driving it. The stick is really fun to drive, except in rush hour traffic.  :-) My dad always had the manual transmission, so I learned on the stick. It was years before I ever started using an automatic.

It's a 381 IS, 2 door, red.  In great shape.  Only "problem" is with the clear coat on the bumper, and there is a noise Mr Flame needs to track down.  HE works with the person we bought it from, and she bought it new, so we know the history, which is nice.

My 90 M3 had that clear coat and was red. Also had problems with the clear coat on the bumpers. I ended up peeling most of it off and the other cracking stuff sort of wore off. The problem was it was a duller, lighter red than the sides and top, where the clear coat didn't flake off.

It's good that it was owned by only one person, particularly if she had all the inspections done on it. Good luck with the noise. Hopefully it's only a belt.

Driving a stick is getting to be a lost art anymore. I can't tell you how many people I've run across who have no clue how to drive one. Should be a requirement of driver's ed, IMHO.

I know how to operate a clutch (motorcycles and ATVs), but I've never driven a stick.  If I can afford an old junker to learn on, I will definitely do it.

I would love to be able to drive one.  My car (2007 Mazda 6) can switch between auto and manual, but I can only do auto at this time. :(  I'd like someone to teach me so I can see how my car performs in manual mode.

I grew up with Chevies and Fords. My dad would never understand my attachment to BMW''s.

I know exactly what you mean! My dad sold Chevies. He would so not understand me having a mercedes now. I can almost hear him spinning in his grave at the idle speed of those big ol' boat Impalas he loved so much.  :lmao:

That is absolutely stunning SR! I am already planning on my next car and Im torn between a BMW or Mercedes sedan. A 5 series would be awesome but an E or S class Mercedes would be NICE too.

Both of those would be nice vehicles.  Whenever I decide to get a new car, I'm going to look at Audis.  Since I'm a VW girl, I gotta stay in the family, and I love the little A3 or an A4.  I'm also a fan of the new VW Tiguan.

I love this wagon! It handles tight and has lots of techy features. I really like the Bluetooth link to our cell phones.  :-)

Now, as much as I like the BMW SUV's, the 7 Series sedans are just
toooooo nice.

They had one at the dealership and all it was missing was the
electronic ball scratcher.  :hyper: Of course it was about 80K...

That would haul a track full of greyhounds. They'd really be able to spread out in that thing. The 3 wagon will be pretty tight for them.  :-)
