Baz Luhrmann set to release fourth movie 'Australia'
« on: November 12, 2008, 08:20:25 AM »
I have a special boxed set of his first three films, Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, and Strictly Ballroom. I love his films. They are very flashy and fun. I think I watch Strictly Ballroom 3 or 4 times a year.

I'm looking forward to seeing his latest one, even if it does have the Botoxed-wonder Nicole Kidman. I'll be too busy taking in the eye candy that is Hugh Jackman.  :-)

As a straight-and-married-with-child, gun-owning, 4WD-driving, former Army Infantry Republican, I've gotta say that Romeo+Juliet and Moulin Rouge were great films.

The energy level in R+J was exactly how I felt the Bard intended it, and the extreme close-up of Nicole Kidman and her ice-blue eyes on the trapeze swing was so beautiful that it hurt
Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of the many which make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority.

He's a great director. Very distinct style. I've enjoyed all of his work so far. Can't wait to see what he's done with Australia.
