Friday 10-24
« on: October 24, 2008, 05:49:00 AM »
Well, it's Friday.

It's another cool grey rainy day in the Sandhills of Nebraska, temperatures in the 30s and 40s.  This is supposed to be, in theory, the last day of this sort of weather, after which it gets sunny and warm.

Thanks to mamacags for finding that youtube video that had been linked here some weeks ago; it was almost a matter of life and death, definitely a matter of urgency.

conservativecave is so big now things are getting lost in the sheer volume of things.

I have a busy weekend ahead, but at least I'm no longer hobbling around on one and a half legs; all's copacetic now with that.  The nephew in Omaha found a computer unit (the tower and hard-drive) with Windows Vista on it, and is planning to come up here sometime soon with it.  Windows 98, once so modern, so state-of-the-art, is a drag when posting here.  The cats are fine, although at long last Snow, the mother of the late Floyd, is finally starting to act disconsolate because someone should be here and isn't.  Snow gets extra attention from me, but I don't want to overdo it.

Another cool morning here (about 35), but supposed to be sunny and almost 60 later.  I have absolutely no where to go today, or tonight!  I'm so excited!

Of course, then it's back to the grindstone tomorrow, with another day of Nutcracker costume fittings, and Sunday is the Harvest Bowl Football game for my little guy.  He's jazzed he gets to play on the High School field.

Also need to clean up the garage at some point this weekend.  It's trashed.

Morning everyone. Day is wide open here. Going to workout in a bit and after that the little one and I are going to head out get some shopping done...some for necessities like milk, but mostly a few 'fun' things as well. I need to make a list when my brain gets unfogged since I know I'm actually supposed to get something I need today but can't remember what. Well, one things is a coffee maker--2nd one in 2 months :bawl: The other half tried to be sweet and make me coffee before I got home from my walk one weekend morning, but he didn't know how to operate the new machine and did not put the filter in the cone shaped basket. Unfortunately, he clogged up the water line beyond repair. I got a great deal on this machine too and it was really awesome. Oh well, I can't get too angry...he was trying to be thoughtful. But, that is on my list of buys today since I reckon what I'm spending on coffee on the go, I could have already bought a really nice machine over the last 2 weeks worth and I have some fine dunkin donuts grind waiting to be brewed.  :uhsure:

Ok, that's about it. Ooh, I just remembered another thing. We took pictures last night and I am going to take them all and get new frames this morning. I also have to go to Sam's and pick up the 11 x 14 for the mantle of the family pic.

Perhaps I'll post them a bit later.

Big day today. Gotta drop off some papers for my new job, go get my flu shot, go shopping for some more Halloween stuff, and I got my ex sister in law coming down here so my folks and I can see our niece and nephews.

Still trying to wake up and now on my 3rd cup of coffee. As I'm typing this, I'm getting quite a spectacle outside my living room window... a red-tailed hawk is trying to chase down a few birds sitting in the treetops across the street, but the smaller birds (look like robins) are flying around him divebombing the bird of prey. Wow.

Nice and cool here in the morning, about 55 or so. In the valley, where I work, about mid 40's, but it'll be near 90 by this afternoon. Nice weather.

I really need to get a new pair of glasses.  I've been putting it off for months, but the headaches are now more trouble than they're worth.  :(

And I feel ever so wonderful.  Hooray for old girlfriends.  They're always good for lifting the spirit.  :(
