A McCain "win" will not be illegitimate because I disagree with his policies, but because he himself has rendered it illegitimate.

In your opinion. Nobody has elected David Swanson the sole judge of what constitutes legitimacy in terms of election outcomes.

If McCain is declared the winner and it can be shown with real evidence that the result was due to fraud, that would be the time to pack bags and hit the streets.

Shame on you, David Swanson. You have here on DU an audience of sensitive, nervous people here who have been subjected to years of allegations of election fraud, never proved; people who spend way too much of their time allowing TV talking heads and the Blogosphere to keep them in a near panic; and you come in as a Pied Piper of doom spewing wild speculation about an imaginable but extremely unlikely outcome from events that have not yet taken place.

Well written post as usual, but I give you a 2 out of 10 on rant content.

Please do document any crimes that Republicans have committed which would call for banning the party.

...because it is obvious...OBVIOUS!...that there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER that the republican party has ANY legal standing to exist as a political entity anymore. With the provable and documentable illegal activities going back to Goldwater, we have watched, in horror, an organization morph from a political party with a bad, bad message into the most destructive, insidious, and blatantly inhumane organization of criminals and despots in the HISTORY of the planet!

Bottom line: I can NOT RATIONALLY listen to ANY discourse put out by a republican source. I cannot even IMAGINE why we let them have any say in society.

When we take over the congress and the presidency, the FIRST order of business is to COMPLETELY CUT OFF all political discourse by the republican party, because it is NOT about politics, but about the need to steal from the vast majority of the people and transfer the wealth to the elite republicans. We MUST MAKE THIS JOB ONE!!

From THERE, we can indict, incarcerate, convict, and imprison every republican officer that we can get our hands on. Finally, we MUST INVALIDATE the republican party, the biggest disgrace in the HISTORY of the planet. We have enough diversity of thought within the Democratic, Socialist, Green, Peace and Freedom, and other progressive parties to ensure a rich, political exchange of ideas in its proper format.

BAN the republican party...NOW!!

OTOH there have been some documented treasonous activities by Dems.
