Yawn...Monday, huh?
« on: September 29, 2008, 06:14:18 AM »
Let's see if I can slide this one in here before asdf gets to it :evillaugh:

For those northern types, how are the fall leaves looking up your way? We have a tree or two just starting to show a little color, but nothing spectacular...we are going to have to crack below that 70 degree point in the day I think to get more. Fingers cross...I know I'll regret this in 3 months, but I'm ready for the cooler weather and the holidays!

School is in full swing here. I get to study my long delayed grammar materials today :bawl: I just hate it...the rules make me 'nervous' in a situation that I usually do alright in(don't judge any of this by how I write here--I am very very casual on the board compared to business situations :uhsure:) But last 2 classes and I'll have a degree at least.

I heard that Dexter new season started last night? Anybody watch? I love that show--like I said, I'm working on season 2 still.  :banghead:

So how is everyone this am?

Yep, it's monday alright, all day and half the night.

Grung.

Trees are starting to change here and it started feeling like fall last week.

I got the carpet apes some chow and just started my second cup of liquid life support.

I am seriously contemplating going to the humane society shelter and looking at puppys if they have any.  I miss having a dog in the house very badly. The cats are my buds and they seem to think of me as an oversized cat who scored some thumbs, but I miss the "dogness" feeling a lot.

We will see.

The weekend was nice.  We slept in a ton and the Mancub and I are working our way through Lego Batman on the 360. He got nabbed for a sleepover Saturday night and we watched Street Kings on pay per view.  The movie was pretty well done and I kept having this naggin feeling that I had seen something like it before but NOTHING rang a bell. Then when the credits ran I noticed that it was written by James Ellroy who is the guy who did L.A. Confidential. Which we watched right after Street Kings.  It remains one of the best movies EVER in my mind.

So whats the week to come look like for folks?

Monday!  Yay!!!  Seriously...I love MOnday morning right now.  My house is nice and quiet, and my kitchen stays clean for longer than 5 minutes!

Had an awesome weekend...the litte guys' football team BEAT the team that has been undeafeated for almost 2 years.  They BEAT them, despite the refs trying to give the game to the other team (I mean seriously BAD officiating...one of the refs had 2 grandsons that play for the other team).

Also met my daughter's date for homecoming...seems like a nice young man.  They went to a movie.  I sent my daughter with money since I was sure was protocal there was anymore (been a while since I've been in the dating market!) and she came home with it all.  She didn't talk too much about it all afterwards, but I know she had a good time.  Didn't want to press her too hard for details!

My house is still mostly clean...laundry is mostly done, and I have clean sheets on my bed.

Should be a good week!

Yep, I'm working on some 'liquid life support' too...to be replaced by physical life support ie strength training before long. *sigh*

I hear you about the dog thing. I actually am not an animal enthusiast like my little girl is, but I find I miss having one here at the house when we don't have any. Currently we have a pooch and I'm considering a kitty. *sigh*

We had two dogs when we first got married. Best.dogs.ever! We've been very fortunate with dogs though. The one we have now is a terrific dog. She's got her rough edges and eccentricities like any animal, but she's really a great dog.

We'll be at peak within the next couple of weeks.  Lots of red and gold here.  I'll try to take a few pics and post them when the rain clears out later this week.

Love that feeling of being 'caught up', Flame. I'm not there. This will be my catch up week, now complicated with schoolwork too :thatsright: Well, the kitchen isn't looking half bad and laundry is going. It will get where it needs to be and then I'm dragging out the Halloween decorations this weekend :cheersmate: God, I love this time of year!

Too early and too warm for any leaves changing.  Pine trees stay green, so the whole effect is ruined around here.

I'm up and at work.  I have my Monster with me, so I'll actually be fully awake in 30 minutes.

Not much for today.  Lots of filing since I ran the statements on Saturday.  :(

Okay, I forgot this was happening today.  The security people have to install something in our back room.  They have to drill a hole from the first floor up to that room.  It's very loud and annoying.  I hope they're almost done.

Yes the trees have started their change here but won't get to the height of their color until probably the end of this month or the beginning of november{In the UP the change is probably already in full swing!} The first episode of Dexter season 3 was pretty interesting and had a twist at the end :-) They apparently are setting up some pretty wild stuff in the coming episodes! Hurry up and finish season 2!

I went to the car dealer's service center this morning at 7:30 am to inquire about a couple of problems with my car.  Didn't exactly get the answers I wanted (especially regarding the broken back passenger side window and when I could expect a new one to be installed), so I'm taking the car elsewhere (probably to that dealer in SC).   I wish Jim Ellis Mazda was a lot closer than it is (4 hour drive). :(

Just been running errands since then, and getting ready for class and a few hours at work.  I have two tests this week ( :bawl: ), so I'll be mostly lurking while I read the textbooks/notes sitting in my lap.

Ahhhh...Mondays..... :therock:

Had a good weekend...stayed in and watched the debate Friday night. I wanted more questions on national security.

Saturday had lunch with my rippin' and runnin' buddy and her niece. Her niece lives with her and is a senior in HS. We are going on a college visit trip Oct 19 for a week. Heading to Charleston for 3 nights, then Savannah staying on Tybee Island for 2 nights and then back up to Brevard, NC for 2 nights on the way home. She's looking at art schools, and since she grew up in Maine....these will be all new places for her to see. Another friend of ours might fly to Savannah and meet us for the rest of the week. We're hoping to get into the Lady and Sons for dinner.

We had an afternoon of manicures and pedicures and some retail therapy before meeting my SO and her husband for dinner. Was a good day.

We went back to Sam's on the other side of town yesterday looking for a specific patterned oriental rug for her living room. Found it. Two women ....in their 50's ...trying to get a 9x11 rug out of this holder. It was one of those things that should have been on Candid Camera or America's Funniest Videos.

We couldn't figure how to get it out because it was crammed in there. So I stood on the cardboard front and broke it, then we tried pulling it out under this little bar that was holding it in place. 15 minutes later, after pushing and pulling, and trying not to wreck new fingernails....she looks on the bar .....and sees the fine print at the edge....."lift here to remove"...  :thatsright:  It wouldn't go all the way up and we're trying to figure out why...it said "lift"....then we realized the arrow pointed downward. She pushed it down...and the rug fell out on my head. :banghead: We got it on the cart....looked around....and were really happy that no one was around to see us looking like "Dummies".  :lmao:

Working on a interior report on a $500,000 house today. Frustrated on it.... beautiful home....with standing water underneath. :(  Getting a foreclosure listed, and doing some work for the other half.....he types with two fingers and takes forever...so being the sweet person I am ( :rotf:)...I'm doing it for him.

Fall must be coming ....three of the deer girls and their new babies (born during the summer) were out frolicking in the front and back yard this morning. The fawns were fascinated by the cats....Bailey was in one window and Jaz was in another and one fawn came almost right up to the window to see Bailey. The fawn didn't know what Bailey was....but Bailey and Jaz's tails were flipping all over the place. The deer girls don't usually come up to the windows...but the fawns were very curious. Two females, we think, and one male because he's so much bigger.....and he's verrrrrry curious. There's another momma in the neighborhood and she has twins...but they haven't been around the house yet. Time to start buying apples and deer food for them. We have a creek in the back, so we are on their regular "path".

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

Don't remind me it's Monday.

Hardly any sleep last night as the boy was awake all damn day, and ya figure he'd sleep all night. Heh... not quite. 2 hours here and there at a stretch. One time it took 30 minutes for him to belch after taking 5 ounces of formula.

But other than that, working this afternoon... I might bring my guitar to play during breaks, but it looks like it's supposed to rain all day, so I might scracth that idea.

I slept like crap last night.  I woke up at least 5 times and every time I woke up I could hear the damn dog LICKING himself and it took me friggen forever to get back to sleep.  Some of what woke me up is our TV in our bedroom comes on on occasion when the DVR starts to record.  I don't know why it does it sometimes and not others.  It turns on but the volume is muted.  It wakes me up and I have to turn off the TV.  It must be from shows I am recording that repeat several times a day (and night).  Shows on Lifetime and perhaps WE.  I have it set to record only new shows and no repeats but for some reason it is still recording repeats of new shows that are shown the same day.  I need to figure it out and get it to stop.    :censored:

I am going to paint my youngest daughters room today.  I'm not looking forward to it but it has been sitting there for about a month with all the furniture in the middle of the room and stuff piled on her bed.  The blinds are down so she wont sleep in her room and every night its the same thing.  She wants to sleep in our room and we have to tell her no and she has to sleep in her brothers room (because he is at college) and she hates sleeping in there.  What is weird is before I had her room torn apart ready to paint she wanted to sleep in there all the time.  Now she never wants to.

We didn't do much this weekend except look for a new car.  The lease on my car is almost up and I'm going to have to get a new one.  I also need new tires and want to trade it in before I replace the tires (they are expensive tires).  They said that I can get out of the lease a couple of months early and not pay the rest of my lease because my car is worth the residual on my lease (or something like that).  This time my husband is handling everything over the phone.  I'm going to get the same car I currently have.  It was redesigned for 2009, I really like the new styling.  I didn't like it at first when we saw it at the car show earlier this year.  It has grown on me.

My house is a mess and it is stressing me out. I guess I better get going and paint my daughters room so I can clean my house too.

BEG my dear, you really only have one solution... head to the spa for a few hours, and just say bah with the house cleaning... call a Merry Maid... you slept like crap last night, this is a health issue after all!  Not an indulgence!   :cheersmate:

Don't count on them winning....the coaches and Crompton are getting crucified.

NIU is my alma mater. When I was there a hundred years ago.....the football team was beyond terrible. They've been doing quite well the last couple of years.

UT has no leadership.....not from the coaches nor within the team. I'm beginning to think the only game we will win will be Wyoming. Everyone else, with NIU being an unknown....will kick our ass. I don't think they have to worry about being disappointed over where they go for a bowl game. They won't be going to a bowl game.

We made lemonaide tonight.
