So, for quite a while, I've thought of the 24 hour news cycle as meaning news happens all the time, around the world, and nowadays, we have access to that news whenever we want. However, the last several months, particularly since Trump's inauguration, it seems that 24 hours is the life span of most stories. Obviously, Trump is rapid firing EOs and statements, good and bad, which impacts the perception, but even other stories, like the assassination of an insurance CEO, major storm systems damaging communities across multiple states, broken ceasefires in Russia and Israel, all seem to pop up and vanish.
Was I wrong to begin with in my interpretation of the term, or has the definition changed?
