Trump’s making a big change to the White House grounds — and says he’ll pay for it himself

President Trump unveiled his latest plans to shake up the White House grounds on Wednesday — announcing he will pay for two large flagpoles.

The president came out of the residence in the morning to survey the grounds on the north side and was spotted with groundskeepers, who were spreading their arms, showing just how large the flags were going to be.

“We’re putting up a beautiful, almost 100-foot-tall American flag on this side and another one on the other side, two flags, top of the line,” he later told reporters outside the White House.

“They needed flagpoles for 200 years. It was something I’ve often said, you know, they don’t have a flagpole per se. So we’re putting one right where you saw us, and we’re putting another one on the other side, on top of the mounds. It’s going to be two beautiful poles.”

If this story is true, I must push back on our President just a bit because per his usual he's being a touch hyperbolic. And the very smart people he surrounds himself with will be realistic on this flagpole & flag size thing.

According to the NY Post, he has suggested an "almost 100-foot-tall American flag". That would require a flagpole of somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 feet tall. A 3ftx5ft flag is standard size, and it requires a pole of at least 15 feet above ground. The general rule is that a flagpole needs to be at least 5 times the vertical length of a flag.

I'd modestly suggest an array of three flagpoles wherever on the White House grounds he prefers. A 60 footer in the center for the American Flag, and a pair of 50's on each side. One with the POW-MIA flag on permanent display, and the other for special occasions, such as a visiting delegation from a foreign land.

And for the DUmmies who are deriding a gold flagpole...it wouldn't be pure gold you ****-tards. An anodized gold is incredibly classy and popular.

After setting up your three pole array, and unfurling Old Glory and the POW/MIA flags as you suggest, Donaldus Magnus needs to make sure that he's having Bebe Netanyahu over every weekend for barbecue, wine and cheese, etc. That ought to be sufficient to throw all the ignorant "pro-Palestine" leftists into fits of apoplexy every time Israel's flag goes up the pole. Could probably pay off the National debt if he were to offer video of the leftist scum protesting outside the fence on pay-per-view.
