Even Snopes has labelled this February 2025 Reddit claim either a fauxto or vandalism with a fauxny sticker,
https://www.snopes.com/news/2025/02/10/genital-verification-dfw-airport-sign/ . Snopes is probably attempting
Stop Making Us Look Insane damage control.
Given the ease of printing one's own vinyl stickers on a Silhouette (or similar machine), it could be either. Snopes factchecked the claim by contacting DFW (the airport, not the DU-Denizen):
By email, Cynthia Vega, the media relations manager for DFW Airport, told Snopes, "This is not a DFW-produced or authorized sign, and we have no information about its origins. However, we are investigating to ensure that none is posted, and we will remove any unauthorized signs if found."
As of this writing, we had not yet definitively determined whether someone had posted one or more of the signs in bathroom stalls, or whether someone simply created a fake photo. We contacted Patrick's office for comment and will update this story if we receive a response or learn more details.
Looks like most DU-Folk realize it is partisan satire, but some really, really, really want to believe it is true.
