So I have a story for you:

So I have a story for you:

I almost NEVER tell this to friends or acquaintances because it affected me profoundly and I don't often feel like having a discussion about it because it was pretty awful, and it changed the way I approach people forever.

I was ten years of age and it took place exactly 60 years ago today. My mother had contracted with a famous piano mover, Duffy and Hughes of Philadelphia, to move our grand piano from our living room into what we used to call "The Utility Room" which had been finished off so that my brother who was a gifted pianist, would have a private room in which he could practice. The agreed upon date was August 28, 1963.

On that day, I was playing on the front lawn when the truck showed up with three men. I wanted to watch and see how they would remove the legs and tip it onto the dolly they brought in the house so I went in. On the TV set, my mother had the live coverage of the March on Washington on, and someone was speaking, and one of the men turned to the TV and said, "An educated N-----." The other two men laughed.

I remember the look of horror on my mom's face: she did not utter another word for the entire time that they were in the house, she gave them the check and they left. My mother then sat down with me and elaborately instructed me about people who hate: how they hated black people, Jews like us, American Indians (as they were referred to at the time), Asians, and anyone they perceived was different. She conveyed to me the depth of the hatred and that it would take generations, if ever, for it to diminish here in the United States. This conversation went on for maybe a half hour.

It was one of a very few talks which my parents had with me in this fashion - another was when I was younger as to why, exactly why, you don't get into a car with a stranger.* It set the tone for my life as an accepting individual of everyone regardless of their background and it was a signal moment in my life. I learned about visceral, historical, blind hate of and by an individual. It was jarring and life-changing. As a Jew, I knew about Nazis and their desire to eliminate the gene pool of Judaism and Jews, but that was genocide perpetrated by a government, not individual commonplace hate here in this "free, beautiful, and glorious" country. It was, as the cliche goes, a rude awakening and the first of hundreds if not thousands of incidents in which I was involved over my 70+ years - years which have taken a toll upon my psyche.

*My parents thought I was a little too trusting and friendly as a little kid, so - and I know this is fairly yucky - told me exactly, and I mean EXACTLY what a man would do to a little boy. Yeah. This was long before "Stranger Danger". We actually had a whole set-up: if someone was sent to pick me up who was not a parent or my much-older brother, there would be a code word which I knew which would identify the individual as being sent by my parent. Otherwise, I was not to get into the car unless it was a police officer. The joys of growing up in the 1950's - the "good old days".

It's the DUmmies putting themselves into historic situations fraudulently, much like Sleepy Joe.

In 1963 the country was a much different place, but this is just BS fiction.

How did this conversation with your mom effect you so profoundly? You were 10.

Add the Jewish parts, and you've made the entire exchange about you-

Toss in some redneck pedophile shit and Nazis..
, dude...

Seriously?

I've mentioned it a few times here and there, but my parents never really did the, "Thar be racists!" talk with me. They just did business with and spoke of people of various ethnic groups as just ordinary people like them. No lecture or sermon was needed when at age 8 or 9 I saw TV news of MLK Jr.'s activities. I thought racism was stupid, and still do. My parents did and said what they said so casually that I really don't know if they were trying to send me an unobvious message or were just being their natural selves. End of :bouncy: .

Humans are inclined to us-them tribalism, sometimes to the point of hatred, as DU illustrates. However desirable it would be for racism to be eradicated, it won't be until Jesus returns. End of sermon.

DUchebag DUmmy pcintern is 70 years old? The level of maturity of his posts I thought it was a most 27 but guessed at 22.

Of course this is all one great big lie to virtue signal for the other DUmmy simps.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

That clown needs to start all of his posts off with "once upon a time".
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

I knew this would be a PCidiot thread just by the title.
