Obama to Stephanopoulos: I could take Palin in basketball
« on: September 07, 2008, 08:53:46 AM »

Quote
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: The rivalry between the Democratic and Republican tickets for president could shift from the ballot box to the hardwood if Barack Obama has his way.

In an exclusive interview airing this morning on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," the Democratic nominee for president said he would be open to going one-on-one in basketball with Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

"You know, I would play her a game of horse," said Obama. "She looks like she’s got some game."

Palin was a standout high school basketball player whose skills on the court earned her the nickname Sarah Barracuda. But Obama said he doesn’t fear her.

"On the basketball court, I think I’d stand up pretty well," he said.

You know I'd still put money on Palin.  :-)  Obama seems to have forgotten that John McCain is running for President.

That would be so fun to watch!   They should do it as a pay per view for some charity.  That charity would never have to beg another dollar.

It is quite phenomenal!   We have the democrat candidate for president, the one for who Election Day was to be a mere formality, now running against the Republican's candidate for vice president.  I've never witnessed such a strange and convoluted turn of events.

It was long overdue to have Obama finally get his comeuppance. On Wednesday night, Guiliani delivered the old 1-2 and Palin finished the job with the TKO. Obama done got beat up by a nobody girl from no where.  :ha: What we are seeing right now is possibly the most self-absorbed political candidate who got his ass kicked and you are right, his response is bizarre.

I don't think he can beat her - Isn't she still semi-active doing part time basketball coaching and she occasionally runs in marathons ?

Its seems to me she is just more physically fit than Barack - If the game is Horse and they are just pitching for points, then maybe he would win with the height advantage - but real one-on-one ? She'd smoke him.

Their No.1 is running against our No. 2 because that is the perceived chink in the GOP armor.

Yet, they're STILL losing.

That only exemplifies how weak their No. 1 is and how silently strong McCain really is.

It might be a winning plan if Palin were unlikable.... but she is not.

Her words resonate with the masses and across gender and racial lines.... much to the disbelief of the left.  :evillaugh: The only people she does not connect with are the liberal elite and it truly sucks to be them about now.

There is no question she would elbow him in the groin and score easily.

Even in a game of horse.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

That's what I want in a presidential candidate.....

he thinks he can beat a woman playing HORSE on a basketball court.

How marvelous.

Let me fill out my ballot now......

for the woman, of course. She seems more concerned with my safety, my financial security, my health care.

I don't give a rat's patoot if she can beat someone playing HORSE on a basketball court.

I think she should call his bluff - that match would never EVER happen, BHO would fake a broken leg before taking to the court against Sarah.

well, he might win.  Governor Palin has been busy with other matters since high school while the messiah has taken all opportunities to shoot some hoops.  Governors really are too busy while, apparently, senators are not.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

He truly missed a perfect opportunity to "rise above" if he had simply said she might beat him on the court but he would beat her and McCain at the ballot box.

He's obviously no gentleman.

Confidence is good, arrogance is ugly.  BHO is arrogant.

You know, this is utter crap. Shooting hoops is not the measure that we should use for people seeking the POTUS or VPOTUS. I want to see an off the cuff town hall style debate, between Palin and Obama....
