I believe that the corruption of many evangelical leaders is an important piece of the "four horsemen" of this fascist movement. The others are:

⦁ Oligarchs
⦁ Politicians, and
⦁ Our perpetual curses: racism and anti-semitism.

Each empowers and corrupts the others.
This pattern repeats through history because it appeals to greed, hate and deception.

This from the most angry, mad, and hateful "people" I have ever been exposed to.... well next to democrat politicians... but it is real close.

I haven't seen many "angry republicans" burning down buildings, looting stores, attacking orators invited to speak in public, blocking EMTs trying to save people and causing general mayhem because they don't get their way.  If all that isn't an expression of anger then I  don't know what is.
