Why isn't Mark Meadows and Margarine Taylor Greene being arrested?

We have undeniable evidence that they engaged in seditious conspiracy and the DoJ hasn't arrested them yet. Greene is still allowed to be in Congress.

It makes no sense. If you or I did a fraction of what these 2 did, we'd have already been booked and sitting in jail.

I really have no faith in Garland at all. It seems like his DoJ is designed to protect Republican politicians.

 :thatsright:

3. Congrats Marius

You are the 10,000th poster to express frustration and impatience with our justice system, I'd explain it to you but this has gotten boring.

5. Do we?

What exactly is that evidence? I get that people can think 'well, it seems plain as day to me' but proving things in a court of law is a bit different so... What exactly is the "undeniable evidence"?

7. We have text messages between the two of them discussing sedition.

9. Specifics please...

Which texts show this?

12. Here's the released texts

Greene texted: "In our private chat with only Members, several are saying the only way to save our Republic is for Trump to call for Marshall (sic) law. I don't know on those things. I just wanted you to tell him. They stole this election. We all know. They will destroy our country next. Please tell him to declassify as much as possible so we can go after Biden and anyone else!"

13. That does not prove seditious conspiracy...

Nor does any there... In fact, there is a ton we are not seeing there. 'Some people are saying' and 'I don't know on these things' are not going to hold up in court. And what was Meadows reply? Oop's, it's missing so... How does that play out in court?

Again... It may be obvious to you but it has to be proof in a court of law.

15. Plotting sedition in text messages between 2 people

is seditious conspiracy.

17. If only it actually showed that...

That would make it easy but it is not what it shows. This text you showed is from 1/17 and you see one person say something that 'they don't know about' and the other person says nothing... And that plot did not happen. It's part of the puzzle of 1/6 it is not "undeniable evidence".

8. Despite Your "Undeniable Evidence" That's Not How Arrests Work in the US

I suspect you know that already. I'm tired of these calls for arrests and whining about what Garland/DOJ is or is not doing when none of us know what's happening in the background. What purpose do these complaining posts do at DU other than to undermine our confidence in the justice system and create mistrust and dampen our energy and interest to keep fighting?

I've been a paying DU member for a very long time and it saddens me to see so much doom and gloom at the site. Some of it, but not all is coming from trolls out to create chaos and sow discord among the Dems here.

18. There's no such thing as "undeniable evidence" when it comes to the powerful and well-connected

You can be thrown in jail immediately and have your car or boat or house confiscated because a trace of an illegal drug is found, whether you had anything to do with how it got to wherever it was found or not.

But apparently sedition and contempt of Congress and the Hatch Act and bribing public officials and the Emoluments clause and all that... well, those things are complicated, you see.

Unless the authorities have ten times the evidence needed to convict an ordinary person in court, you aren't even arrested or charged.

And: Why isn't Mark Meadows and Margarine Taylor Greene being arrested?

Here are some free clues, Marius25: There was no crime. There was no evidence of a crime. The DOJ seems reluctant to have their asses handed to them in court, which is what would happen if the DOJ went full stupid. MTG would have some DOJ lawyers' heads hanging on her wall, metaphorically of course.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Because they did nothing wrong and broke no law.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
