Obama: I Have More Executive Experience Than Palin
« on: September 02, 2008, 12:25:26 PM »

this is hilarious.  running for president qualifies one to be president.  and didn't he spend the entire primary
season dismissing the possibility that qualifications were relevant to being president?

Obama: I Have More Executive Experience Than Palin

Barack Obama contends that he is more experienced in executive matters than Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin because he has managed his presidential campaign for the past 18 months.

Speaking on a cable news channel Monday night, the Democratic presidential nominee said he is better prepared to handle a disaster like Hurricane Gustav because of his pursuit of the White House.

“Well, my understanding is that Governor Palin’s town of Wasilla has, I think, 50 employees. We’ve got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. So I think that our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the last couple of years,” Obama said.

John McCain’s spokesman called the suggestion “laughable.”

“For Barack Obama to argue that he’s experienced enough to be president because he’s running for president is desperate circular logic and its laughable. It is a testament to Barack Obama’s inexperience and failing qualifications that he would stoop to passing off his candidacy as comparable to Governor Sarah Palin’s executive experience managing a budget of over $10 billion and more than 24,000 employees,” said spokesman Tucker Bounds.

...and once again, they omit her governorship.  :whatever:

They can't handle the truth. Obama HAS no experience.

I liked McCain's comment that someone put in their sig line -

I think it goes like this:

If Obama had as much executive experience as Palin, then he could run for Veep too..."

It was clever :-)

Whoever has that needs to post in this thread.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I don't remember where McCain said it.  I'll have to dig it up again.

Assuming the premise:

If campaigning = executive experience

THEN

Palin is campaigning as well so if you add back in her pre-VP campaigning experience she is STILL more experienced than the no-previous-executive-experience Obama.

I thought that campaign managers managed campaigns. :whatever:  and if his 300-strong army of foreign policy
"advisers" is any indication, he doesn't run a thing.  he even has people doing his thinking for him.

Ive noticed that the election has suddenly changed from Obama vs McCain to Obama vs Palin. Its like Obama is running against Hillary again.

And this is nothing but good news.  :-) People seem to see through Obama based sexism after the way he dissed Hillary

This quote line will get him if nothing else does. When accused of sexism against Clinton he blamed his staff or some leak. I hold him responsible since he has admitted he ran his own campaign. I guess he really expects us to believe he ran his own campaign...give me a break.

Michelle has more executive experience than Barry
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Yuk! I can't stand Michelle obama. Next we will hear that MO wants to scratch out Palin's eyes like she wanted to do to Bill Clinton.

I fail to see how Barry's 143 days in the senate compares to the two years as Gov. of the biggest state in the country.

I would like to see how big alaska's GDP is . . . . with all that oil production, THAT would be a great mens of expressing her stewardship of the alaskan economy, I would think.

It's his--totally harmless--schtick.

IRL so-called psychics assume to guess who you are as a person by "remotely viewing" their subject to ascertain his habits and tastes.

Don parodies that; generally good-naturedly unless you're a lib. Currently his RV's are in the Lounge.

the gross state product of alaska is apparently over $40 BILLION.  that's generally the number I am finding.  I am looking for an authoritative link on a state government website.  but sarah palin obviously manages a huge state budget, and is the steward of a massive state economy.

she is NOT merely 1/100 of 1/2 of 1/3 of the federal government, as is BHO.  (yes, I know, just like john mccain, too.)
