Disney exec: We're going to give you less food for the same price, but be happy, because you are fat

ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????????????

https://sftimes.com/disney-cfo-comment-on-peoples-waistlines-leave-fans-furious/

“We have things on the cost of goods side,” the CFO said. “And it’s interesting. Just last week … I was talking to our parks senior team about things we could do there. And there are lots of things that are worth talking about. We can adjust suppliers. We can substitute products. We can cut portion size, which is probably good for some people’s waistlines.”

Disneyland and Disney World fans worldwide became furious at the last part of her comment.

The company has been receiving unpleasant feedback from guests who were suffering from increased prices around the park like the parking spaces – and now, a cut on their food serving without a cut on the cost they are paying. The “waistline” joke, in addition, was taken by many as a cheap attempt as the park, first of all, does not have all healthy options for its guests.

“So we’re fat shaming now as justification for cutting costs?” a Twitter user said.

2. Uh

We can hear it. We just expect to pay less for a smaller portion. That's not too hard to figure out is it?
So we are obese AND gluttons in your opinion, and it's ok for corporations to take this approach?
Screw that.

PS..are you even American?

3. Lol. Have you gone to a grocery store lately?

Less portion same or more price. Disney at least is honest about it.

6. So it's ok?

The items I buy at the grocery store are still the same amount. Pricier, but, still the same amount.
None of it is ok, but, what Disney said was not.
Disney can kiss my ass.

Full stop.  Chin music probably thinks he's super smaht.  In this post he just admitted food prices are higher.  Let's continue.

5. It's been about fifteen years since I've been to WDW.

And even then I thought the meals were skimpy.
I can only imagine what they are like now.

8. Now you get a quarter corn dog...

for 10.00 bucks apparently. And Disney is doing it to save our waistline and pad their pockets w some triffling nonsense about saving us from ourselves.

Boycott Disney. It's way way WAY overpriced to begin with.

Who said Corporations are entitled to ever increasing profits at the expense of the customer? When/what is the limit? Pretty soon we can just send corpprations a check I guess...for nothing. As if the tax giveaways weren't already paying for our "corndogs"

So there you have it.  Chin music admits the price of groceries has risen (by quite a lot!), then blames the evil corporation for making the portions smaller, but leaving the price the same.

I'm guessing math and economics are not Chin music's friends.

16. Having recently visited one of the theme parks I was floored how fat some of the Americans are

They could barely walk and I have no idea how they were flown down to Florida. Living in a beach community, you simply rarely see such a site. But here there were herds of them.

I think many DU's living in New England or California would be shocked if they visit the Midwest or say Houston at the size of some American communities.

Honestly, if you do not see such things in your day to day life, it can be quite an experience.

Man, talk about touching an exposed nerve. I love the DU Fat Wars, where ALL the obese DUmmies are fat for hormonal reasons.

How many overweight people do you see who are 70 years old or older?

Just something to think about.

What the **** is this shit.

It's the kind of geographic bigotry and stereotyping that is a staple on DU.

Having been in KS and MO recently, I'll call :bs: .

Being a frequent contributor to RaceRaves, a site that is like Yelp for running events, and seen reviews of the insane number of events (5Ks through ultra-marathons!) in flyover country, I'll call :bs: .

Being an occasional contributor to a FB group that is for showing off "bling" from running events, many from events (5Ks through ultra-marathons!) in flyover country, I'll call :bs: .

I wonder how many DU-folk even know what an "ultra-marathon" is or are smart enough to figure it out.
