Fowler Fouls: Hurricane is God's Favor to Democrats

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her "Dan Quayle" on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as "just terrible." They both agreed that, "Other than the simple fact that she's a female," she has nothing to offer.

Then there was this gem of a moment from Fowler:

So you see, it's funny. That New Orleans will get a hurricane. That's funny because it is due to hit when President Bush is scheduled to speak. Isn't that cool? Fowler isn't the only one who thinks so, just ask Michael Moore.

We all know Democrats used and use Katrina as a political football as callously as possible. Here's a candid moment showing some can hardly wait for another one.

All Class.

"Oh isn't it great? A hurricane is gonna' kill a lot of people just as the Repug Convention starts! Oh I hope thousands die so that America can see once and and for all what terrible people those awful, warmongering, bloodthirsty, self centered repugs are!".

/liberal mode off.

This ends up being a God-SEND.

The rather delicate question of Bush and Cheney's attendance is avoided with no political muss and fuss.

It looks like the Convention will be compact -- no days and days of delegates getting tanked and droning idiots.  Get in, get the job done, a few important and effective speeches, note how well the government is taking care of NOLA and the Gulf Coast, go home and enjoy a real bounce that won't come down.

McCain has already started the wheels going on this one.

Where in the hell did he get such a great set of political wheels all of a sudden?  The instant ads, the timing and selection of Palin, now this management of the Convention vs. Gustav.

I am damn impressed.

I agree.  but they have to find a spot to feature sarah palin's speech.  most of the country has never heard of her, and they need to get a dose of this wonderful lady, and killer candidate.
