all I wanted to do was retire
buy a camper or a large enough vehicle to live in while touring this country of ours.

I wanted to go to Maine, Oregon, the Mex-Tex border, and even Kansas. Just to see the sights and meet people.

Eat different foods and have some local beers.

But, no. Flying somewhere is out, don't like maskholes, driving somewhere is out, I don't trust maskholes to actually take the pandemic seriously and I don't want to get the plague in backwoods Mi crookedletter, crookedletter, and trust the village shaman to have the correct meds.

So, I garden, I read, I meditate but the wave of depression doesn't seem to stop. This country will never recover from the 4 years of hurt from some fat orange made up asshole .

The dream has died

Sounds like the reason you are angry is because of you.

3. Me to.

My housemate and I were going to take the kids across country.

Bought a used RV.

The kids are only little once.

I retired now two years

We were going for a year.

Camp and drive.

But no.

10. Me three!

I retired in 2019 and was planning on traveling for a couple of years, revisiting my favorite countries. My plans have been derailed by the pandemic. I’m even thinking of going back to a work from home job to keep from becoming more depressed.

7. I have a more positive view.

I've watched a lot of post-apocalyptic movies, and although I certainly don't want the world to come to an end I've secretly hoped that if and when it does, I'll live to see it. Now it's beginning to look like I might get my wish. It may soon be time to shop for a weird costume and a wrist-mounted crossbow.

9. I've gotten to the point

that when I leave California I feel like I'm in a foreign Country.

Farthest I've been in a few years was Las Vegas for a family reunion in 2019. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I've been living in a very small town for 30 years.

Do us a favor and stay in California.

22. 2019 - I retired from the DoD

Wanted and planned to travel before my lupus and back problems got so bad I couldn't do it. I especially wanted to drive out to the West coast and head up the ocean highway north. Have wanted to do that since I was a teenager. (sigh) Finally had the time, and then the pandemic hit and RW's lost their freaking minds. So.... here I sit. Each year it's a bit harder to stand for any length of time, and now I want to travel to Ireland, to boot. I'm trying to get my head around the -fact- I ain't going anywhere and just be happy where I'm at. At least my house is paid for, I've got 10 cats and a huge dog to play around with; and a hubby who can drive me crazy. I'll get back into candlemaking at some point, rewrite my Tarot book, and maybe try to write another book on some other aspect of the Craft. Am currently running 2 classes of masked, vaccinated individuals... and if we could ever get past this pandemic, I'd like to read the cards at the local herbal/magick shop in town; maybe run a class or two out of there.

But travel -- only in my dreams or astrally, I'm afraid... I do have good dreams, so there is that! (LOL)

32. Same boat as you

we had a cruise to Alaska and a Wedding in Austin with an extension to New Orleans planned. All canceled.

But I really feel we will be able to travel in 2022 again.

We live in New York, which is doing better than other States (you know the Red ones). So we have taken a couple of car trips into the wilds of NY.

36. I'm right there with you.

At least I had a few years to enjoy myself before the shit hit the fan. There were many more things on my bucket list, but before COVID hit my mother spent almost a year in hospice, then died. After that I had the estate to clear up, and right after that......COVID-19!

Everyone is acquainted with the story from there forward and, like you, I'm looking forward to a time when I can resume my retirement. If that time ever comes.

I look at it this way: if I was still working things would be exponentially worse right now. I sincerely feel sorry for those who are still working, have children in elementary school, or who never got to enjoy any of their retirement, like you, onethatcares. Hang in there. It'll get better.

50. I will probably never play live poker again

I'm hardly a gambler-I play low stakes, and mostly for the camaraderie with other people, as I'm usually kind of a loner. I nearly went to play the other day, figuring everyone would be masked, but I changed my mind. Good thing-I found out many of the dealers and players where I go (South Florida) have been hit hard by Covid. Maybe someday.

I guess their urgency to get vaccinated was all in vain.

The chances of dying from C19 vs dying while traveling are both so small as to be indistinguishable. But naturally, the kooks worry about one and not the other.

More Drama there than at Juliard.

My wife and I are going on a cruise to Alaska next month; got out shots handled.

Dear not-so-Slightly-off-balance ...

By all means do yourself and us a favor & go for travelling astrally.  :rotf:

Enjoy & please don't bother trying to come back from it!

Fisking this is going to be FUN!

1 Democrat governor, one of the most vaxxed of US states, even their R US Senators are Ds in R clothing. :rotf:

2 Democrat governor, one of the more vaxxed among US states, haven for Antifa. :rotf:

3 The Rio Grande Tex-Mex border is heavily Hispanic and D. What does Star Moron onethatcares have against Hispanics and Ds? :fuelfire: Texas is mid-range among US states wrt rate of vax. :rotf:

4 Female Democrat governor. What does Star Moron onethatcares have against female D governors? :fuelfire: Kansas is mid-range among US states wrt rate of vax. :rotf:

5 So Star Moron onethatcares is ignorant of the fact that masks are required while on airport property and aboard commercial flights? Not surprised. I flew to and from KC a month ago, with multiple plane changes. No Covid. :rotf:

6 So Star Moron onethatcares believes motels, restaurants, and gas stations don't clean their rooms and stores? :rotf:

7 So Star Moron onethatcares is ignorant of the facts that Mississippi is 37% blacks and blacks are the most vax-reluctant in the US? :rotf:

8 Wow! Could Star Moron onethatcares be much more anti-Native-American and anti-black than that bit of bigotry? Julius Streicher would be envious of that bigoted turn of phrase! :rotf:
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

All I can say to the DUmmies is; Welcome to Joe Biden’s America!  This is what you voted for.

I disagree.  They will continue to blame every cock-up that bidunce does on President Trump, while failing or refusing to accept the problems are self inflicted by stealing the election.
