Removing Kavanaugh

AFTER they do the second reconciliation bill, I was going to suggest we needed to find a committee with no week-kneed Dems, that could easily document that Kavanaugh perjured himself during his congressional testimony, and they could forward the charges to the DOJ for prosecution, with the ONLY deal for no prison time (Michael Cohen did federal time), would be if he resigned from the SCOTUS and forfeited his law license.

But Senator Whitehouse is already on this like a dog with a bone. He wrote a letter to the DOJ stating:

"what appears to have been a politically-constrained and perhaps fake FBI investigation into alleged misconduct by now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, rather than what Director Wray promised: a background investigation 'consistent with [the FBI's] long-standing policies, practices, and procedures.'"


And they're out of the gate and down the stretch they come.

10. That's not how the law works

As I suppose you understand when you referred to it as a magic wand. There's no legal process for undoing a supreme Court nomination. He can be impeached, but it would have to be for his own actions, not actions taking on his behalf by laggards in the FBI.

I've been following him in the news hoping he'd screw up, but the reality is he's not done anything as a SCOTUS Justice to warrant removal

But, of course, the republiQan senators don't care if their guys lie to congress. They definitely would not vote to impeach. So, you're right.

51. Impeach him for perjury. Never mind the "other matters" that is what help get us in the state we....

.... and the country is facing right now. Biden has his work cut out for him. IMO Biden is doing great, but we have to stop this cycle of the repugs digging deep holes to enrich themselves. Then they walk away, leaving a mess for the Democrats to clean up. Once we clean it up, they blame us for spending money to fix the mess they made, then convince the gullible that ONLY THEY CAN FIX WHAT IS WRONG. They get elected and steal the treasury blind, and the cycle starts over.

PUT THEM IN JAIL FOR YEARS. Remember when it comes to capital punishment. Those that oppose capital punishment saying it solves nothing. Those that favor capital punishment will retort with, "well, at least those bad guys will not commit the crime again". So I would suggest those in prison for crimes against the American people will be in prison and WON'T commit the crime again.

The Constitution states that Justices "shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour." This means that the Justices hold office as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment. ... The only Justice to be impeached was Associate Justice Samuel Chase in 1805.

But it can't hurt the country to know that one of its Supreme Court Justices had his seat bought for him by Russian corruption interfering with the vetting process, resulting in a sham review.

20. I'd like to know why the investigation was so half-assed.

From what's been reported the FBI didn't even talk to Ford, or Kavanaugh. How can that possibly be standard procedure, to "investigate" a possible crime & not even talk to the victim or the accused? And why didn't they talk to any of the other folks who had information?

It looks to me like someone high up leaned on them to pretend to "investigate" without really investigating. If that's what happened, I want to know who was behind it.

His son that works at Deutsche Bank. Who asked him to resign and why did he? There was something about a multi million dollar loan that the son gave to Trump. The son was in trouble and I believe the investigation was dropped when his father resigned. Does anyone remember that as well?

As was explained at the time,they could only do a background check again,they had no jurisdiction for a criminal investigation you moron.
