2. The DU Facebook page was less than worthless.

It was full of RW trolls gloating. I hope they have a better backup plan this time.

6. This site was, and is more than just being able to take comfort with likeminded people - with each

election there's always been LOTS AND LOTS OF INFORMATION and first hand reporting about things like voting anomalies and such...

Not only links posted to articles and blogs and such, but info about recall elections and recounts a nd how to get involved. I first found DU around the time of 2004 election & Ohio recount, and also there were a number of questionable shenanigans in regards to some of the elections here in Wisconsin.

This site going down on election night (in combination with our local progressive radio talk station suddenly switching to Christmas music) still leaves me really unsettled - I still think it was more than just mean vindictive people being mean and vindictive - I think there was (and is likely to be again) a concerted effort to shut down communications between progressives and those of us who want to keep a close eye and share info about things that look fishy to us..

The thing about Lord Marblehead EarlG is that he's more arrogant, more stuck up, than Skins is, or was.  That old eurocentric looking-down-upon-America thing (as if every square inch of that continent hasn't already been drenched in blood over the centuries).

And so if a primitive gets whiny, Lord Marblehead is more likely than Skins was, to tell the primitive to **** off.
