CTyankee (55,136 posts) I love Bernie BUT...(hear me out now) I just don't think most voters like a candidate that raises his voice so much. I am a woman and I don't like it when men raise their voices to me, in any context or setting. And I don't raise my voice to make a point I feel passionate about, unless it is to be heard, as in "Please let me be heard." And I have had to say that in political discussions with other Democrats, not Republicans (I don't think I even know any Republicans).I like Bernie and subscribe to his views. But even I am put off by his raised voice. What comes across as one person's passionate intensity, sounds like yelling to another.I don't need to be soothed. I need to be spoken to plainly and honestly and clearly. It's all I ask of our Democratic contenders.https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287394961
Ted Kennedy is the only person with an actual confirmed kill in the war on women.
I see no bernie-bots jumping in to DEFEND HIM!Hmmmm....

Star Member comradebillyboy (6,838 posts)2. I find Bernie to be very offputting. For all of the reasons that have been stated so many time here at DU. But his speaking style is truly dreadful. It's painful to listen to him.
lees1975 (18 posts)5. same for me with Elizabeth Warren I get the same feeling with Elizabeth Warren. I agree with her most all the time but its painful to listen to her speak.
Maybe he sounds like a cranky old man because he IS just a cranky old man.
Purged in 2016?
I agree with the DUmmies. I hardly ever watch them but when I do, he is yelling in that dumb accent, and she sounds like she's going to start bawling. But what really gets me is that pointy finger they both have. It's horrible.
You folks have no idea how much of the Democrat crap I've had to endure. Have been watching a lot of college and NFL football during the past week, and every commercial break is full of these clown car morons.Steyer is the worst, constantly droning on about the existential crisis of Algore warming. Sloppy Joe, Butt-Head and Crazy Uncle Bernie are also running ads non-stop. During yesterday's Packers game, my friend and I counted how many political ads were on. 47 in a three and a half hour time period. Ridiculous.
