Can we now stop saying that Trump was "elected" as President?

CNN is reporting on how Assange played a major role in the hacking
of the 2016 election while living in the embassy. I am looking for a link.

because I'm gonna believe anything CNN says?

4. drumpf fraudulently became President by a rigged and hacked election.

Pretty much sums up everything about his entire life.

9. He was elected President

You was elected by popular vote in enough States to get 270+ electoral votes. That is all that is required.

oh, don't start with facts... it will just confuse them.

12. That falls under "reported, not confirmed"

There is a reason the (all-Republican) makers of the electronic vote-counting machines went to court to get a ruling that their reported results were not required to be verified by independent computer forensics experts.

29. What's "required" in a democracy is accountable, verifiable elections.

Whether direct election, or the kludgy and anti-democratic Electoral College process, if you can't verify it, and you have strong evidence that there was hacking on multiple fronts, you have actually not met the requirements. The Constitution may not spell out every letter of it, but any democracy that can't verify its elections is doomed to rapid collapse.

14. The electoral college duely elected him.

We don't ever directly elect Presidents.

The process to pick and inform the the electors was rigged. But technically, he was duely elected still.

Sorry to say.

17. The results can be challenged based on fraud. Suppression of vote, gerrmandering, etc.

Quote
zipplewrath (14,840 posts)

21. Could have been challenged

You have to do that before the congress certifies the election.

18. No President has been elected

By popular election. There is nothing in the Constitution that says the people have to/may vote for the President.

The electors do vote for President by a clearly defined process. He did receive a majority of those votes; none were challenged.

23. That's a rather legalistic technical argument....and does not account for the social media hacks, the well-documented voting system hacks, the e-mail hacks, and the complicity of Comey and McConnell in hiding it all and exaggerating a Clinton weakness.

that's because it's a legal technical question, you ****ing lunatics!

19. He was "elected" but the voting machines were rigged

The media outlets were rigged too. Social media was rigged. It was a rigged election.
Hillary Clinton was cheated and so were many other Democrats.

26. And the really upsetting and infuriating thing is...that it seems like nothing can be done about it. Turtleman wouldn't even let a vote on election protection come to the floor. Not to mention that gerrymandering and voter suppression are still taking place. And the Russians & others are continuing to interfere via social media lies and misinformation. And Russians have successfully hacked into our voting systems. I'm sure that they were just looking around and didn't do anything to mess with our election results, past and future.

Cheating is the only way that Republicans can win now.

31. It's astonishing to me that multiple posts here are attempting to defend Trump's legitimacy.

I don't see how that's remotely possible, given the overwhelming pile of evidence of every sort of hacking (social media, state election systems, opponent's e-mails, and the FBI itself working to hide it all). Also Putin has publicly admitted he was supporting Trump.

No, you can't ... if you want to be truthful. Not one vote was flipped by Russian anythings. And Trump was elected President by the Electoral College.

And if one stipulates that Russians provided the DNC emails to Assange (not that I've seen evidence to support that narrative), so what? "We should not have gotten caught!" is a singularly unimpressive argument. When the truth is your enemy, the problem is not with the truth but with you.

I'm wondering if the DUmbs give any republican in the history of the country credit for winning an election instead of stealing an election.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Maybe...right after you admit you are mentally impaired and have no clue as to how America was founded and works.
In other words, never.

Exactly my point. An argument could be made for brooklynite, from what I've seen of him, but as the saying goes, he's the exception that proves the rule.

They seem to be throwing up the John Brown thing a lot.  Considering he was a murderous, delusional psychopath willing to shoot women and children in the face for their men's different political beliefs, perhaps an appropriate reflection on themselves...

Then again the left has always had a thing for murderous, delusional psychopaths (just look at all of the Che shirts they love wearing) so this adoration of John Brown is not a surprise to me.

Some Antifa-types - including the thug in Tacoma who assumed pavement temperature last week - have formed "John Brown" gun clubs. They think armed attacks are or soon will be "necessary" and are appropriating a slavery abolitionist image.
