Sat May 26, 2018, 07:53 PMTotally Tunsie (17 posts)Memorial Day fireworks need to be discontinued.IMO, "Bombs bursting in air" is hardly the way to show respect and compassion for the lives lost under fire. It enrages me each year as my town continues to resort to the fireworks ritual. It's supposed to be a solemn day, not one of celebration, and what of those who suffer from PTSD and other war-related traumas? Shameful, I say.

In a crowded place these days some may think it is gunfire and we may have a lot of "good guys with guns" shooting innocent people. Enough already.

Definitely Memorial DayI live in New England, and there are many towns nearby that "honor" our war dead with pyrotechnics each year. Please understand, I have no problem with July 4th fireworks or any other time when they're appropriate. It just seems to me that Memorial Day and Veterans' Day aren't in that category.

Another stupid law in Michigan.Once they started that (and I do believe the law says any holiday) it's nonstop fireworks and very few people abide by the law. It's pretty disgusting. I live in a senior community and some of the seniors with dementia are traumatized by it also. Anyone with a dog cannot enjoy it at all.
DUmmies hate any display honoring our country or the men and women that fought and/or died to protect it.

I never heard of fireworks on Memorial Day.
Not a "thing" here either, but if it POs DUpipo I'm all for it. What does happen around Silicon Valley the 2 weeks before Memorial Day is a plane restoration outfit brings a B-17 and a B-24 to Moffett Field. For a certain amount one can do a walk-through tour, and for a certain AMOUNT people can take rides around Silicon Valley. I happen to live near the landing path for Moffett, so I see them flying fairly low. Appreciating historical things, it's pretty cool; one morning I saw the B-17 heading in, and then 5 or 10 seconds later I saw the B-24 following behind it. The week after Memorial Day the planes heads over to the nearby Livermore Airport for a week there (I worked in Livermore in the late 2000s).I would love to hear DUpipo's reactions to WW2 bombers flying overhead!
F that, I've fired tank main guns, stood next to 155s firing, seen bombs get blown in place, and all that happy shit. Fireworks are cool, if you don't like it stay home.
I never heard fireworks on Memorial day either, however if it whips the dipshit libs into a frenzy I think it should be made mandatory for the whole 3 day weekend.
Ted Kennedy is the only person with an actual confirmed kill in the war on women.
