The irony in this post is mind boggling.

So who else is getting the feeling that violence is inevitable?
My big fear is that the average Republican is getting more cloistered, insular, gunned up and violent every day.
Cloistered? Insular? This from a member of a website that will not tolerate even the mildest disagreement with approved opinions. As for "gunned up and violent," it was a leftist who attempted to take out actual Republican members of Congress .

the positive arguments for policy now nonexistent, and any sign of compromise seems to be evaporating.
The Ds have made it their mission to obstruct everything that Trump wants, including policy and appointments, and THEY are the ones who haven't compromised on ANYTHING.

It feels like the America of 1850 with the Republican party of 2018 playing the role of Southern Democrats in 1850. There is no compromise. They know nothing of the other side's argument than the pastiche cartoon villainy they have been fed. All their enemies are brainwashed swine and vermin.
Deplorables, irredeemable, R women only vote the way their husbands, (male) bosses, and sons want them to, etc. Who sees the other side as cartoon villains????

I've been arguing with a few. I test the water every few months. Now, I have trouble even hearing a rational argument. I can't seem to get them to articulate one even when I lay it out for them. "So your position is X?" "No, that's another liberal lie." "But you said you support X." "Fake news." I mean, in the same sentence sometimes. "Hogg is a Nazi because he supports gun control and I don't,
David Camera Hogg is a little prick, who thinks he's adult enough to tell actual adults what they should be doing, but the minute he is criticized, even mildly, retreats to, "Whaaaa, whaaa, whaaa, I'm a child, and you're attacking me, therefore you need to lose your livelihood!"

besides, guns didn't kill those kids, the sheriff did when he didn't stop Cruz from buying a gun."

Funny, the same people who think all cops are out to shoot innocent Black children even over a fender-bender go out of their way to defend the arrogant and incompetent sheriff who did nothing to prevent the massacre, and the deputy who did nothing to stop it.
Quote
There is really no rational way in there. I went about twenty messages of, "So you are for the gun control that they have in Florida." "No, I'm against gun control." "So you think Cruz should have had his gun." "No, there are laws and the sheriff should have stopped him" ...and around. ...and around.
People who oppose more laws have been pretty consistent in saying that if existing laws had been enforced this wouldn't have happened, so how would more laws stop future massacres?

So how does this NOT end in bloodshed? I've had this feeling, ever since I heard Sarah Palin speak the first time, that there is a growing group of conservatives that really believe they know the one and only right way. Everyone else are libtards, commies and marxists. (All names I've been called this week.)
Irony, irony, irony . . .

And here is the kicker. They no longer know what they will be believing tomorrow. A former friend who wanted Obama out because he was too easy on Russia thinks that Trump is doing a great job with Putin. Any mention of Trump's Russia behavior, or the fact we hear about much of our Russian diplomatic moves from the Kremlin, are just liberal lies I've swallowed. Fake news.

Without the hope compromise, how do we preserve a democracy?

How do we preserve a democracy when certain states choose to defy the Constitution and federal law and do their own thing when it comes to illegal immigrants?

So when the day comes that they lose or America is really bloodied by their actions and Trump, or whatever worse than Trump is in the wings, points and says, "kill these enemies among us, they did it," what's to stop them? They are being trained to "other" their neighbors. They are stocking up on guns. They are getting their news from that rightwing noise machine that just gets louder.
As opposed to the leftwing noise machine that just gets louder. Jim Acosta, anyone??

There are billionaires and mercenaries colluding to put this man in power, to keep this man in power, to give this man more power.
.
Has any president ever had more (unconstitutional) power than Obama? A "treaty" becomes an "agreement" and therefore doesn't have to be ratified by the Senate. An executive order is as good as any law passed by the Congress, and anyone who disagrees is a racist.

All the paths out of this nightmare would seem to require mutual respect and understanding,

Mutual respect? In other words, we are supposed to respect them, but they will only respect us if we do what they want.

and I'm just not seeing it lately. A big win this year doesn't fix this. They'll still be out there, railing against pedophile pizzarias and disrespectful black men, and baby-part-selling cannibal clinics, and whatever disguise racial purity is wearing this week.
Oh, good grief. And, BTW, Planned Parenthood's abortion mills DO sell baby parts, and it's very disturbing that DU can hear the evidence for themselves and deny that it happens.

My ONLY hope is that this moment with the mask off will scare enough people that we drive them out of office for a while,
My hope is that this clown will be disappointed in November, and that DU will have an epic meltdown. Pute comedy gold.

and that we can reach some state of normal.

A state of normal in which men who call themselves women can be in locker rooms with actual women and girls and if you don't like it you're a "hater."

But that won't solve the "no compromise" Republican problem. It will still be there, awaiting a more competent demagogue.
I don't think this idiot actually understands the true meaning of "compromise."

Assaulting Trump voters.

The husband of a sitting congresswoman paying people to start fights at Trump campaign rallies.

ANTIFA

Racially segregated safe spaces.

Defying constitutionally delegated authority to regulate immigration and enforce the law.

The list goes on.

They either stop their violence or they will face the consequences.

The Wall Street Journal has a review today of a book called Meltdown  (author named is Chris Clearfield) which discusses "why complex systems break down."  In entomology, there is a similar "system breakdown" seen in insect colonies, especially bees, called "sudden colony collapse."  There may be no reason why human societies should be immune from the same forces.

We see this throughout History, where large empires or countries reach a certain size or age and begin to fall apart, some slowly, some quickly.

Is there anything more complex, more self-contradicting, more self-centered than our layers of government right now...and their supporters on the Left?

Violence may not be necessary, as the system's own contradictions and idiocies may bring it down first!

The sfwriter primitive is the female counterpart of the Cryano primitive who, as you know, is one of the most paranoid primitives.
