They are greedy, hypocritical sociopaths. That means that they are fully aware about the harm of their actions but they do not give a shit as long as they personally benefit. 15 years ago I asked my psychiatrist what the definition of a sociopath was (it had to do with something personal and he is a pro so I thought he would be able to explain it to me). He said, " BigmanPigman, most of the politicians are sociopaths" trying to tell me that they come in all shapes and forms and exist everywhere in the real world. I will never forget that.
