Oh my.

Some here might remember the rabbi from our old home; he was "liberalguy" over there.

Anyway, despite that he always struck me as sort of bland, I always considered him a reasonable person.  And besides, it's no crime to be bland.

So someone on DU Jr. posted a story about the best way to deal with Nazis, which is by making fun of them.

I agree; ridicule works.  Which is why franksolich utilizes it in performing a public service for the Good of Humanity, exposing and ridiculing the primitives on Skins's island.

So we get to this:

1. Anti fascist action should be effective action.

The nazis come back to the town in germany each year despite the clowns.

I would characterize it as arguably good PR, but ineffective anti fascism.

7. ".....but ineffective anti-fascism....."

So, rabbi.....what would "effective" anti-fascism be?

Surely you're not recommending the gas chambers, but I'd like you to assure me on that.

12. He endorses violence against those who say things he does not approve of.

I am sure his involvement stops at supporting the right of others to violently suppress political speech. I don't believe he has the wherewithal to do any of his own suppressing.

13. Well, I'm pretty nervous about this,

given how the rhetoric and tactics of the Democrats, liberals, and primitives have gotten more and more violent over the years.

I've known the rabbi, the liberalguy member here, for years, and always had the impression of him as being reasonably reasonable.

But now I'm not for sure; maybe or maybe not, but it seems he's acquired a taste for blood.

It would be considerably reassuring if he told me that no, he doesn't want to send anybody to the gas chambers.

His silence is ominous.

20. I must speak in support of liberalguy. He meant effective dialogue like us here right now.

Knowing each other, and walking a mile in the other guy's shoes, is the most effective deterrent to anyon's wish to wear such an armband in the first place.

^^^recently got kicked off Skins's island for being too reasonable of a person.

9. well now, I'm still waiting

".....ineffective anti fascism....."

Are you, or are you not, suggesting the gas chambers?

16. Come on now, dude, tell me.

Are you, or are you not, suggesting the gas chambers as a means of dealing with people you don't like?

Being a Democrat, liberal, and primitive, obviously subscribing to the belief that a woman can kill a child whose existence is an obstacle to her having fun, it's not much of a slippery slope for one to slide into the idea that it's okay to kill those with whom one disagrees.

I don't like Nazis any more than you or Donald Trump or Messalina Agrippina do, but am willing to respect their right to life.

It'd be reassuring if you told me no, you don't want them extirpated either; only that their message is ridiculed out of existence.

I have no idea why it's so hard for the rabbi to say it; "no, I don't think people with whom I disagree ought to be exterminated."

I don't think anybody from this side of the aisle would have a problem saying that.

It makes one wonder why the rabbi is so reluctant to say it.
