Ilsa (44,959 posts) https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029427170So I get a call from a Marine recruiter...asking about my son, and if he's considering a career in the military. I explain that he's not eligible due to a neurodevelopment disorder, and he tells me about his son who has Aspergers. We have a friendly visit, about others in our families who've served, especially during war time, and he comments that my and my husband's family have given much in service already. He asked if I knew anyone I could refer to him."Have you guys called the Trump family? I'm pretty sure not a single soul in that family has given a minute to serving in the Armed Forces." Then I laughed a little. His response floored me:"Oh, I'm sure the younger Trump family is hearing it every day. The Secret Service is the agency that protects the first family, but it's the Marines who guard them. It's military helocopters and pilots flying them everywhere, and Marines guarding the WH and any US embassy they visit."Maybe Tiffany, who is of recruiting age, will consider serving in a branch of the Armed Forces

When I told him my son wasn't interested, he then told me the Marines have a special new relationship with the Marriott Resorts and because I recently stayed at a Fairfield Inn I qualify for a special 3 day 4 night stay in a special resort spot in Las Vegas and I will be given some aluminum cookware.I gave him my info and he signed me up. In October I will be posting from VEGAS, suckers!!
Ted Kennedy is the only person with an actual confirmed kill in the war on women.
At least it'll say Vegas on the side of the railcars...
The Washington Post’s fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, gave Hillary Clinton two Pinocchios — a rating given for significant omissions and exaggerations — for an old story she repeated this week about the time she says she applied to the Marines in 1975.Hillary Diane Rodham was a rising legal star at the time — and would soon marry future President Bill Clinton — when she claims she went to a Marine recruiting office in Arkansas to sign up for the Corps. But a young recruiter rejected the 26-year-old, telling her that she was too old, but that the Army might take her.“He looks at me and he goes, ‘Um, how old are you?’ And I said ‘Well, I’m 26, I’m going to be 27.’ And he goes, ‘Well, that’s kind of old for us,'” the recruiter told her, she said Tuesday.“And then he says to me, ‘Maybe the dogs will take you,’ meaning the Army.”Clinton has told the story in public only on several occasions, the first in 1994 when she was first lady. But as The Daily Caller documented last week, the tale doesn’t add up.
