Nearly all Cabinet officials attend Bible lessons with right-wing pastor

 ::)

Quote
“These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture,” said Capitol Ministries president and founder Ralph Drollinger. According to CBN, the majority of the cabinet officials attend a frequent Bible study class, that is the first of its kind in at least 100 years.

 ::)

Quote
While he doesn’t lobby on behalf of peace or advocate policies that would fit a Jesus-like agenda, he has started a Bible study group in 40 state capitols as well as foreign capitols. He teaches weekly Bible study classes for the U.S. House and Senate and now leads a group of nearly all of Trump’s cabinet officials.

... A Jesus like agenda? You mean like "Be nice to everyone" ?

21. I fear there are people in Trump's inner circle who believe we are approaching the "end times"

and who believe that Trump is the man who can bring it on. They believe the final war of Armegeddon will surely come. And they want this war. I fear they are "teaching" Trump to literally be the instrument of our destruction. And I fear that the idea of it could very well appeal him.

34. The mainstream media aren't covering these theocratic moves. This guy and Sessions speech at the AFN. A lot of what is most disturbing about Trump is not being covered. They're still legitimating him.

The MSM is legitimating Trump?

Wow! Stereotypes and bigotry on parade! Didn't anybody call Ralph Drollinger a "Fundamentalist" or a "Fundie"? Get ready ...

... be sitting down ...

... you won't believe what's coming ...

(GASP!)

Having received his MDiv from a seminary founded in the mid 1980s by John MacArthur, a Fundamentalist pastor, Ralph Drollinger might actually be a (Gasp! Horrors!) Fundamentalist!

(Seriously, have I ever pointed out a theologically conservative Christian DU-folk called a "Fundamentalist" as actually being one? I think Drollinger might be the first!)

DU-grade bigotry aside, Drollinger seems a really impressive guy. 7'2", he played championship level basketball in high school and played with UCLA in 4 consecutive Final Fours under Coach Wooden. He's been in outreach ministries since his years at UCLA, is still married to his first wife (that alone means he's a sick puppy to some DU-folk!), and is a serious mountaineer along with everything else.

I know this pains many DU-folk, but theologically conservative Christians are as fully citizens of the US as the ravingest atheist in the American Humanist Association, have the full rights of a US citizens, including the rights to exercise our religion, speak our views openly, and associate freely. All that includes conducting devotional Bible studies with Presidential Cabinet members, if invited. Welcome to freedom, DU-folk.

And once again the DUmmies wallow in the theological ignorance and anti- Christian bigotry they hold so dear.

... A Jesus like agenda? You mean like "Be nice to everyone" ?

Whoever wrote that probably thinks it means "Be nice, don't say anything that a protected group might find even the slightest bit offensive, fully support all LGBT demands, and never mention your faith in any way."

1. This guy claims only "trVe Christians" (born agains) say prayers heard by God.

1. It's not that unreasonable of an assertion to make. Those who are insincere in their faith (i.e. the DUmmy TMN praying that it would thunderstorm on Trump's inauguration) or do not follow the Christian faith should not expect for their prayers to be heard by the Christian God, Yahweh/ Jehovah.
2. This DUmmy makes it seem like Christianity is the only religion that believes in exclusivity, that only their own beliefs are right: News flash: NEARLY ALL MAJOR RELIGIONS BELIEVE THAT ABOUT THEMSELVES! Muslims believe that only those who devoutly follow Islam will enter Paradise, Buddhists believe that only those who follow the Eightfold Path will achieve Nirvana, and so on.

"Star Member Old Vet (1,290 posts)
8. This shit is scary on so many levels..........."
Oh yeah, it must be TERRIFYING to know that some people in our government have different religious beliefs than you do!
Bigoted moron.

"NCjack (2,336 posts)
4. Ralph knows that Trump is the Anti-Christ, but thinks that he can be controlled. nt"
No way.
Any true Christian with real knowledge of the Bible and especially revelation will know that the AntiChrist, when he comes, will be dearly beloved by nearly everyone in the world for the first several years after his debut on the world, viewed as a perfect leader and perfect person in general. Donald Trump was a very controversial figure before he even entered politics, with a long list of detractors. Hell, even Obama, when he was first campaigning and everyone was fawning all over him with some directly comparing him to Jesus, didn't have the kinds of worldwide love that the AntiChrist will have.

"Star Member YOHABLO (3,753 posts)
6. Christo Fascism .. they should be spending more time on solutions then flipping through pages in the bible."
1. Having religious beliefs and seeking to learn more about the Holy book of their faith is "Fascism"? Who knew?
2. This may shock you, DUmmy, but even people in government can have religious beliefs and attend Bible study sessions to learn more about what their faith teaches. They I'm sure devote plenty of time to carry out their governmental duties, they're surely allowed an hour or two a week to learn about their faith.

"Star Member dhill926 (6,144 posts)
7. ****ing freaks...."
How much you want to bet this same DUmmy believes that grown men should be allowed to use the same public bathrooms as little girls just as long as those men claim to identify as a woman?

"BigmanPigman (2,452 posts)
32. When does separation of church and state apply?"
It DOESN'T apply in this case.
First off, contrary to what secularist fanatics believe, separation of church and state is not in the Constitution anywhere. The term was first coined in a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to a group of Baptists (A quasi- persecuted religious minority in America at the time) in which he was attempting to assure them that the government would stay out of their church's affairs. He never intended it to be used the other way around, the way ultra- secularists think, that it means there must not be any sign of religious faith anywhere in government.
The secularists confuse it with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, which prohibits the founding of an official state religion (i.e. the Church of England), and that too would not apply to this. Just cabinet members having their own Bible study is their own business, it's not in violation of any law or amendment (Though I'm sure that wouldn't be the case if Hillary were in the Oval Office, as she'd immediately begin finding ways to crack down on Christians' religious freedom). Coincidentally, the secularists always conveniently ignore the second half of Freedom of Religion, the whole part about not "Prohibiting the free exercise" of people's religious faith.
