primitives, hearing-aid batteries, and airport security

Oh man, I'm really digging, desperate for something amusing from the primitives on Skins's island.

I wandered over to the deaf-and-hard-of-hearing forum on Skins's island.

I saw one bonfire about a dog eating a hearing-aid, but I already used that.

Going into that forum, one gets attacked by killer cobwebs.

The sad thing is, if a primitive wants notoriety (and isn't Pedro Picasso), being quoted here, the simplest and easiest way is by posting something in the deaf-and-hard-of-hearing forum; I can pretty much guarantee that that bonfire will be brought over here, and the primitive made famous.  That forum, and the frugal living forum, and the rural forum.

I uncovered this ancient jewel from the snobbish primitive:

Security checks at airport and batteries

I use #10, tiny batteries. The first couple times I put my purse with them in it through the x-ray at airport I noticed my batteries would last only a couple hours before that dreaded "beep beep beep" then dead. I tried getting them through just handing them to TSA, went through a world of hassle (and a moment of realizing that I might not get on the airplane), finally they hand inspected the unopened package clearly marked "hearing aid batteries", looked at my aids (took out of my ear), then x-rayed than and said I was good to go.

Now I put them in my pocket and walk through the human scanner and have not had a problem.

Wondering if anyone else has had problems like this with either batteries going DOA or hassles with TSA.

Okay.

franksolich doesn't use hearing-aids.

Is this true?

Can airport x-rays ruin hearing-aid batteries, or other batteries?

No primitive bothered to illuminate the snobbish primitive.

I think it's highly unlikely, and nothing showed up on google about batteries being affected by x-rays.  I haven't seen any warnings about it.

The metal detector (Magnetometer) is more likely to cause problems because it actually puts out a magnetic (electrical) field, an X-ray does not.
