Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said it will take 11 years to confirm the remainder of President Trump's nominees if Democrats continue delaying tactics.

Democrats, under Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have slowed confirmation votes on nominees by objecting to quick consideration and instead requiring procedural hurdles and 30 hours of debate on each person.

The latest example is Patrick M. Shanahan, Trump's pick for deputy secretary of defense.

Democrats are requiring a procedural vote on Shanahan, which will take place Monday night, followed by 30 hours of debate before a confirmation vote later this week.

Many of the nominees delayed by Democrats passed easily and with bipartisan support, calling into question the motive behind the delays.

"If this continues it will take us more than 11 years to confirm the remaining presidential appointment," McConnell said.

McConnell said the delays are leaving the federal government without key positions filled.

"Our colleagues need to stop this immediately for the sake of the country," McConnell said.

McConnell knows full well that a ridiculous 'ol tyme' "procedure" is responsible here. And he supports it to minimize Trumps ability to get his folks in place.

There was a guest on the Laura Ing. show yesterday who spelled it out. Basically Senators of the Opposition Party from the State a Nominee is from must have a "BLUE CARD" submitted that O.K.s the Nominee, or the nomination stops.

It's NOT EVEN A WRITTEN RULE ! But McConnell and all the others accept it.

How's That for STUPID ??

"If we don’t adhere to the Constitution on matters as significant as presidential eligibility, then the Constitution ceases to be a meaningful document for guiding our nation."
