Former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will participate in
a "rare conversation" on leadership as part of the graduation ceremony for the 2017 class of the Presidential Leadership Scholars (PLS) program on Thursday.
The event will take place at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas at a time when evidence of bipartisan conversation rarely finds the light of day.
The PLS program is a leadership development initiative designed for scholars who "share a commitment to facing society’s greatest challenges," according to the program's website. It is
an initiative that draws upon the resources of the presidential centers of Lyndon B. Johnson, George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, and George W. Bush.
According to the PLS program, "by including a roster of presidential centers—two Republican and two Democratic—the program creates a rare opportunity
to instill in scholars a brand of principled leadership that transcends diverse backgrounds."
Thursday’s conversation with Clinton and Bush will be streamed live on the PLS website.
