I woke up last night, thinking I heard someone calling my name.
Shortly thereafter, I realized that someone actually was calling my name. The neighbors in the house behind ours were shouting my name. Alarmed, I got out of bed, put my pants on and went out the side door of the house to see what was the matter.

They told me that they had just seen someone going through the cars in my driveway. They had seen the lights come on in the cars. They told me they yelled at the person, who fled the area. They had called the police, who promised to drive by and see if they could see anyone prowling around the neighborhood.

I thanked them, locked the cars, and went back to bed. So, this morning, I went and looked in the car. There was nothing of value in either car, really, but I noticed that the small change in the center console cup holders was gone.

Looks like I'm going to have to start locking the car when I park it from now on. I'm guessing it was some kid, going from car to car, looking for stuff like that change. It's mildly disturbing, though.

What name did they call ? Moses ? Rock head ?


You don't lock your car door ?!

If only he had a fence around his property. Oh well just an undocumented visitor.

I miss the days when I was young.

Not only could you leave your car unlocked where I grew up, you could leave the keys in the car.

People could go to bed at night, leaving all their windows open and even leaving doors open with nothing more than a screen door to keep the mosquitoes out.

A good DUmmie would leave a filled coin jar on the hood of the car every night to make up for the income lost to the thief by the locked doors.  Greedy jerk.   :bird:

Hey, MM didn't buy those cars (tangentially: how DARE he own more than one car when there are people out there with NONE!).  It was bought on the sweat of laborers in factories all over the world who probably don't get a living wage.  These people are suffering so MM can have transportation to lock up.  And about that, as you point out it is very greedy of him to keep poor and needy people out of his cars.  They clearly need what is in it much more than he does.  Who does he think he is, a rethuglican capitalist pig?

I still do leave them unlocked, but I started taking the keys out due to those stupid f&$##*ing automatic door locks.  Never a problem in almost 25 years.
