3. Why are you calling Gov. Brown a name?

Refer to him as Gov. Brown would you?

4. The forward thinking Governor wears that moniker with pride

Do you know the backstory how he got labeled with it, and how, on a stretch, Jerry Brown could even be called the Godfather of cellular telephones?

11. He does not like being called that name

You are welcome!

2. Great news!

What I would like to know is will my water bill go back down to where it was before it doubled last year?

18. It's a good incentive to keep conserving.

I feel this is similar to any idea of carbon taxes in that people will cut back if it effects their bottom line.

19. Conservation efforts have been so good in our community that our water dept. is low on money

Less usage equals less revenues

8. We should still not waste water, and conserve it

10. All the rain will probably contribute to a severe fire season this fall

Nope, none at all.

No new dams. Hell, no maintaining the old ones.

Our reservoir is still only at 51%. A smart thing to do would be to fill all the reservoirs that are low and connected to state water system. They won't do that and will just let the runoff from the snow pak go to earth or the ocean. Here in KKKalifornia the politicians hate the citizens but love the illegal invaders.

2. Great news!

What I would like to know is will my water bill go back down to where it was before it doubled last year?

It won't for several reasons:

1. Government and quasi-government agencies don't like cutting taxes, fees, and rates;

2. A large percentage of water agencies' costs are fixed costs, people and equipment maintenance that are there almost regardless of how much water is actually delivered;

3. Government and quasi-government agencies don't like cutting taxes, fees, and rates.

No, not ever.

But the good news is you will soon be paying 12 cents a gallon more for gasoline to make up for the theft of the 30 cents or so per gallon that was supposed to be dedicated to road infrastructure!

Gas in L.A. right now is between $2.65 and $4.00 (yes, 4 dollars) a gallon.  Here in Dallas it is between $2.06 and $2.69.

The irony is gasoline cost is THE MOST REGRESSIVE TAX THERE IS.  In California, you MUST drive to get pretty much anywhere -- especially to work.  Way to stick it to the poor, California!

Own it, baby!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I also heard car registration fees are going up, and will be DOUBLED for the owners of electric and alt-fuel vehicles, since they generate little in the way of highway taxes...

The funniest thing I heard about this whole thing is a Cali legislator claiming he was FOR raising the gas tax "since it hasn't been increased in decades."   :rotf:
