"The Senate Democrats, I mean, they are right now filled with rage and fury — and they're in a state of denial over the election," the Texas Republican told "The Joe Pags Show" in an interview.
"They're really angry at the voters.
"They're angry at the American people for voting for a Republican president, a Republican Senate, a Republican House — and they're lashing out."
Regarding Sessions, Cruz said Warren — the Massachusetts Democrat who was seated Tuesday in a Senate floor move by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — "was recycling false and slanderous accusations.
"Unfortunately, Democrats — when they get desperate —
their most-often recourse is just to throw around accusations of racism, so she was smearing his character.
"It's against the Senate rules to do that — and that's ultimately what happened last night," Cruz told host Joe Pagliarulo. "It's really a manifestation of her anger and the anger of the other Senate Democrats at the American voters."
