Gloves are off on Facebook...

... I had a public standpoint for years that I would not discuss politics on Facebook. I scrolled past and ignored post after post after post and meme after meme after meme from obnoxious right-wing friends that sought to piss all over anyone who DARED not to vote Republican, who promoted distortions, lies, hypocrisy and endless hate.

"I care more about friends and family than political battles," I said, resenting them more and more every time I saw idiotic nonsense about how ALL DEMOCRATS DON'T WORK and THE DOW IS UP TO 20,000 THANKS TO TRUMP (did they ever applaud Obama for any positive economic news? Of course not!)

My mother and sister and I are all of the same political mindset. And so since the disgusting inauguration we've been bringing the fight to family members who want to post their right-wing shit, and have been calmly, logically debunking their crap.

One family member posted garbage from a pro-Trump sycophant about how the Women's March was promoted by Muslims as part of a secret plot Sharia Law, blah blah blah. The sycophant who wrote the article was literally NOT IN THE U.S. AT ALL LAST WEEKEND and has zero clue as to what really went on.

My sister, who WAS at the March in D.C., calmly but firmly refuted the crap in this article and I chimed in by pointing out the author's bias and how I rely on first-hand witnesses rather than pundits with an axe to grind. And my mother basically shredded this family member as a mindless Trump worshipper in a separate post.

We'll all get defriended by her by the end of the day, I warrant. My mother for obvious reasons, and my sister and I since we dared to politely challenge the right-wing propaganda.

For years these people posted whatever kind of garbage and lies they wanted, and now it's being questioned and challenged. And they HATE that.

Let my family member defriend us all and then complain about "liberals attacking me!" I really don't care. I would rather peacefully go my own way than put up with this "TRUMP IS ALWAYS RIGHT ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE LIBERALS ARE 100% WRONG!" bullshit. If they can't handle being opposed, good riddance.

I bolded the previous bits because you know just the opposite happened.

He posted some stupid ass memes about how the women in the march were idiots, not smart enough to realize that they already have equal rights.

I tried posting facts. I pointed out to him that his Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin (my daughter) all attended the march, and queried if he thought we were all idiots. He mealy-mouthed it, of course, saying that "of course" we are smart, but we were duped by "the leftist media."

I tried to make a rational argument, but in the end, he doubled down on stupid and posted another, similar meme. OKAY, we're done.

My milllenial niece and nephews appear to be libs, but I don't unfriend them.  They're family.  I just ignore their very occasional politically bent posts and move on.

My brother in law and some of my nieces post liberal crap on facebook from time to time.  The rest of us ignore it, no sense starting a fight right?  My son posted something the other day making fun of the marchers..........they came unglued!  Pretty soon comments back and forth.  Had to tell my son to just stop, it's a double standard we have to live with.  The left can post what they want, we can't.

Being there, doing that. As for the marchers - some, not all - they were little short of being as perverse (e.g. the protesters who heckled Trump hotel employees bringing out an AED to help a protester who was having a heart attack) and perverted as an SF Gay Pride Parade.

Every once in a while I go to their page and like something, that way they don't know I hid their posts. They are all in-laws, not real friends, lol.

Mushy hates them but doesn't want them to know.

My facebook story   --- I kept quiet and saw a lot of friends say things I didn't like.  During the transition friends said more stuff  but I kept quiet to maintain friends.

After Inauguration I didn't care. POTUS and his family post really nice stuff, pics and video and I share every one.

Facebook is heavy with Trump enthusiasm.

You have to translate this a bit to see what they are actually doing - more clearly than they, themselves, do. What it really means is:

I think that's a reasonably accurate translation, maybe a little understated.

This jobs report indicated that full time good paying jobs (construction, manufacturing,etc) were gained AND that the record high of "people out of the workforce" came down. Don't think that stat has gone down since Preznint Shit Midas was immaculated.
