Gingrich: Top Intel Appointees Betrayed Agencies, Need Overhaul
« on: January 15, 2017, 02:27:07 PM »
Gingrich, who serves as Trump's adviser, blasted the intel community over the release of an unsubstantiated dossier alleging deep ties between Moscow and Trump during the presidential campaign.

"I don't think there should be a good relationship right now," Gingrich said. "The very top people who are political appointees, I think absolutely betrayed and undermined the intelligence community. I think they acted in ways that were totally inappropriate."

Trump should call for an overhaul once he takes office, he added.

Hey, Newt! What's an overhaul supposed to do? Shuffle people from one place to another? Cashier a few more so they slip into their comfortable retirement? Eliminate political cronyism? Gimme a break, Newt.

The sad fact is, Washington is chock-full of bloated bureaucracies whose sniping and backstabbing to further their own agendas (namely the people themselves) is the name of the game. That will not change, for Trump or anyone else, until the entire house of cards collapses.

When Bush II "restructured" the "intelligence community" in the aftermath of 9/11, that exercise in futility was but a mere example of what I'm talking about.

The government never gets smaller. At best, it slows its growth but a whisker.  :whatever:

Hi,

I think there is a difference between political appointees and real intelligence people.  You need to rid the agency of those politically motivated.  The first place I would start would be lie detector tests.  They can do them, I think it is part of the deal.

Second I would go to the NYT and IRS.  Subpoena the clown who wrote about the Trump tax information that was leaked to him.  Put him under oath, give him immunity if he reveals his source.  If he refuses to do so, charge hime with contempt of court - the Susan McDougall suite is available for a couple years.

The IRS people who are leaking information should not only be fired, but also be prosecuted criminally, just like those who release classified intelligence material.
