WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal authorities are warning Americans that Islamic State sympathizers are continuing to call for attacks on churches and other holiday gathering sites. The warning was issued after a publicly available list of U.S. churches was posted on a militants’ social media site.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security issued the warning to law enforcement agencies nationwide Friday, just days after an attack at a Christmas market in Berlin. Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack in which a truck plowed into the holiday market, killing 12 people and injuring 56.

FBI spokesman Andrew Ames says the FBI is aware of the list of churches posted online and is investigating its credibility.

But, this administration in my opinion wants something to happen to justify what they plan to do anyway....first they make you afraid, then use any thing to justify a governmental action that rescinds your rights. And sadly, because you fell for the initial lie, you gladly give up your rights in the nation of being protected.

Yes- Trump is already working the FBI and the DHS.

Someone a while back actually checked. They came up with a total capacity of all the seating in all the churches and found it wouldn't even hold 10% of the people who claim to attend church regularly.

Ask. Most can't tell you the name of their pastor. Most can't even tell you where their local church of their denomination is. Some don't even know their denomination, they just answer "Christian".

Mind you it's different in the land of the Mega-Church but even then you have 5,000 - 10,000 attending in cities of millions.

The last time most people can say they went to a church was for a wedding or a funeral.

The last time I attended a church that had just one service a week was (thinking ... thinking ... thinking ...) 1976, MAYBE, maybe not in my lifetime. Two services on a Sunday morning is almost the minimal norm; many have 2 or 3 plus services on Wednesday evenings. And, if this "study" actually exists, how would weekly small groups be counted, if at all. The church we current attend has 2 services Saturday evenings, and 2 services on Sunday mornings; and then there are something like 100 or more home groups that meet weekly or bi-weekly. I could complicate the fact-checking of this "study" eve more by tossing in the issue of how often some people attend, but I think the gaping holes in this "study" are pretty clear. As is the abject ignorance of "Spitfire of ATJ". :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright:

Yeppers, on both counts. And Muslims sometimes have problems with Sikhs. Also, "Muslim" isn't a language. Conservatives know this, but it seems that some DU-folk do not.

BTW, in that latter point, DU-member "HassleCat " may be alluding to a recently exposed probable hoax.

Since the ISIS-type terrorists have threatened Christian churches, I'm not sure many DU-folk would be in any danger. Especially if the threatened churches are "Fundies".

It's feasible. I'm at church right now. The church's security team is posted at every external doorway with ARs. Colorado Springs finest are inside patrolling around.

I was invited to a lady friend's church for Christmas Eve services. Orthodox. It was very nice.*

I believe it was at TWO Democrat National Conventions that the democrats loudly booed at the mention of the Name God.  I cannot imagine a democrat being found in the House of The Lord on any given day.  The democrats are safe.

Maybe it is the government warning us good and decent folks about the danger and threats from the democrats' buddies that really makes the DUmmies object and ridicule such warnings.  As far as I (and history) am concerned, the democrat party is a terrorist organization devoted to the destruction of the United States of America.

I considered slipping either the P32 or the P238 into my inside pocket of my suit coat, but thought differently of it, figuring that I'd get at least one hug from a fellow choir member.  I did.  If I put one of those two into my pants pocket, everyone and the world would know that I had something in my pocket, but they wouldn't be able to see exactly what.  Our better-attended, and thus more 'target-rich' Masses, are the earlier ones, not the 9 PM Mass that I sang at.

Beat me to it.  The first thing I thought when reading that was that I cannot think of a single Christian church that I have encountered since my childhood that did not have at least two Sunday morning services and one Sunday evening service.  Many around here now actually have three Sunday morning services and two Sunday evening services, in addition to something mid-week (usually Wednesday, sometimes Thursday).
