It's kind of hard to say that you don't care about others and expect others to have a lot of sympathy for you. You say screw being nice and then complain when people are mean to you. Apparently you wanted that to be a one way street.If you want people to act with respect, perhaps you should consider how your own actions have contributed to the responses you get.

sheshe298. It was not just about the thread that sunk.It was being called a liar, when I did not lie. It was being called stupid when I AM NOT STUPID. It is the tactic they take to humiliate us. They do this to take away our self worth. They do this to abuse us. Verbal abuse is just as bad as physical abuse. It debilitates you. I know this for a fact. My ex did it to me. I was in commission sales. My husband, well he described my job this way... I was no better than a hooker, hooking furniture. He said this to me. He said that to me. hfojvt (37,294 posts) 83. We were, after all, talking about the Wilson incident where he yelled out "you lie" when Obama was speaking to Congress, but NOT giving a State of the Union. So it seemed to me, an obvious parody for me to say "you lie" instead of the more mundane (and less funny) "you are wrong".

whopis01 (1,936 posts) 110. No, you are mistaken.It was a speech delivered to a joint session of Congress, however it was not a State of the Union Addresss. Just because a President is speaking to Congress does not make the speech a State of the Union Address.
