I love that area!  And I recognize the Mini golf course, too.   That one of the things I miss about when I lived in TN.
It's called "Hillbilly Golf".  We go there nearly every time we visit.

LOL!

My Mancub came home from that trip from down there with a fierce addiction to Mini Golf!!

I heard about little other than Hillbilly Golf from him after he got home. :-)

BWAHAHA!!!!!!! I totally forgot about this one. I was looking for Dolly's "Tennessee Homesick Blues" and found this. Put your drink down before clicking.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

found the lyrics -

New York City ain't no kind of place
For a country girl with a friendly face
If you smile people look at you funny
They take it wrong
The greenest state in the land of the free
And the home of the Grand Ole Opry
Is calling me back to my Smoky Mountain home
I wish I had my old fishin' pole
And was sitting on the banks of the fishing hole
Eating green apples and waiting for the fish to bite
Life ain't as simple as it used to be
Since the big apple took a bite out of me
And Lord, I'm so Tennessee homesick that i could die

Chorus:

But I ain't been home in I don't know when
If I had it all to do over again
Tonight I'd sleep in my old feather bed

What I wouldn't give for a little bitty taste
Of Mama's homemade chocolate cake
Tennessee homesick blues running through my head

Mama you can fluff my feather bed
Just as soon as I can I'm gonna head
Back to the Tennessee hills and it better be soon
Daddy you can load the rifles up
We're gonna load them dogs on the pickup truck
And take off to Calhoun Country and catch us a coon

Repeat Chorus

Eatin' grits and gravy and country ham
Go to church on Sunday with dinner on the grounds
Tennessee homesick blues are runnin' through my head

Repeat Chorus

Good Lord have mercy on a country girl
Tryin' to make a living in a rhinestone world
It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world
With Tennessee homesick blues runnin' through my head
I've got those Tennessee homesick blues runnin' through my head
Tennessee homesick blues
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

'Rhinestone' was an under-appreciated movie.   :-)

Tennesee and Kentucky. I got to see alot of them both when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. Our unit once spent two weeks near the Great Smokey mountains and it was not to bad there for the most part.

He did pretty good.  I only got into one fight with him because in the middle of that huge ginormous storm he kept asking (like 20 times) what road we were on.  You couldn't even see 2 feet out from the car.  How the hell can you read road signs!??!?!  He also pretty much told my kids Santa is fake at dinner one night.  Since they are 9 & 10 I let that one go.  I mean how long can a kid believe in Santa anyway? :-)

I have more!  These are from my family reunion I went to while I was in Kentucky....

The really really old root cellar on the farm we go to.  It still has canned veggies (I think) in it from the 1940s and 50s.

Nice family tree.

The sand sculpture is really cool.

Dollywood was closed when I was there a few years ago, but I did ride the ski lift and buy some fresh taffy. There was a girl involved, I took a LOA from work and flew down to see her. Six months later, her younger sister ended up moving in with me. I was such a slut back then.  :-)
