time. One of my cousins is a CPA. He's been doing my family's taxes since the late 70s when he was working in a CPA firm prepping for his CPA exam. He's now a partner in that firm. Based on working with him I've learned:
* One can file for an extension from April to August, and again past August (but I don't know the new new due date);
*
BUT the taxpayer must pay, by April 15th, their best estimate of what they owe;
* While I don't remember whether we've ever had to file for an extension, we've come close once or twice, and my cousin made the process very clear - the requirement to pay by 4/15 and the August deadline date.
So either this

. Based on his purported ignorance that every state has boards for certifying and disciplining various types of licensed professionals, I'll go with
