IdaBriggs (1000+ posts) Tue Aug-05-08 07:53 AMOriginal message My Mom was waiting in line at the bank yesterday... and overheard the guy ahead of her talking to the teller, who apparently knew him. The man buys and sells 'collectibles' and was talking about how he can't keep up at the moment, because EVERYONE is *SELLING* everything they have to stay afloat. He was an older gentleman, and he flat out stated he didn't think the country was in a 'recession' but was instead in a 'depression' similar to the Great One.We live in Michigan. My Mom thought it was worth mentioning, so I thought I would pass it along -- just a small story from the front lines of the economy...
What's the name of the Republican governor up there in Michigan? And the Republican mayor of Detroit and other big cities up there?

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
