Booker stokes speculation about Clinton VP job

"New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker is now referring questions about whether he is being vetted as a potential running mate for Hillary Clinton to her campaign -- a shift from as recently as two weeks ago, when he flatly denied he was in the running for the job.

"I'm just referring questions about the vice presidency to the woman who is going to have to make this decision," Booker told CNN's Brianna Keilar in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union." "You should talk to the Clinton campaign."

Booker's tightly guarded answer is a marked difference from how he responded to that question last month, when he told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell: "I'm not being vetted."

Booker is one of several Democrats believed to be under consideration by Clinton. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Rep. Xavier Beccera of California have all been floated as potential choices.

One factor that potentially could work against Booker is that he's from a state with a Republican governor, meaning his seat in the Senate would almost certainly be replaced by a Republican were he to be elected vice president."

It looks like Sherrod Brown has made the short list.  I watched him on the Stephy Stephanopoulos Show this morning and he must have been sent out by the democrat party or the Cankles campaign with orders to babble incoherent deflections for a show segment.  This guy is as dumb as a post.  The democrat party will probably want to keep him in the Senate for electoral reasons, but Martha Raddatz went ahead and asked him anyway if he has been contacted by the Cankles campaign about being the vice presidential candidate and he spoke some of the stupidest words I've ever heard on TV.

RADDATZ: Senator Brown, just quickly -- to wrap this up. I've got to ask you one quick question about vice presidential speculations surrounding you. Have you been contacted or vetted by the campaign?

BROWN: I'm simply not going to speculate on that. I love the job I get to do working everything from auto rescue to the earned income tax credit.

RADDTAZ: Have you been contacted?

BROWN: ...to those question. I'm not going to speculate. I think I have answered that.

RADDATZ: I'm not asking you to speculate. Have you been contacted?

BROWN: I understand. You've heard my answer. That's what you're going to get. And talk to the Secretary Clinton campaign.

RADDATZ: OK, thanks very much for joining us, Senator Brown.

1. I saw Sherrod Brown and Beccera this morning
They also refused flatly to answer the question. Not sure this means something concerning Booker (or the 2 other ones or anybody else), but it certainly means that the campaign is in its last phase of vetting VP candidates and close to announcing.

In Brown's defense, the dumb ass didn't understand the question.

Sounds like she had some good candidates if reports are to be believed.

If you like Slow Joe, you're gonna love Sherrod Brown.

My guess is that The SHREW is a grudge-nourishing. thin-skinned, autocratic, control-freak. So she will not pick anyone with the brains to be competition for publicity or a more effective leader than her (I know, that narrows the field considerably). True that, she learned from the best.  Obarry picked Slow Joe, because he just needed a warm body, brains were optional, but not desired.
