I'm sorry.  WHAT did he just say?  did he just say that an open ended commitment based on conditions on the
ground was consistent with pulling every single soldier out in 16 months, AND his hysterical criticism of mccain's
willingness to allow troops to remain in iraq for however long it took (the notorious 100 year comment)?

and how is this consistent with the way he burned hillary clinton down in the primaries?

does this guy believe anything at all?

WASHINGTON, July 26 (Reuters) - U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said in an interview published on Saturday the size of a residual U.S. force left in Iraq after the withdrawal of combat troops would be "entirely conditions-based."

In comments seized upon by the campaign of Republican rival John McCain, Obama told Newsweek Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki recognized Iraq was "going to need our help for some time to come."

"It's hard to anticipate where we may be six months from now, or a year from now, or a year and a half from now."

The McCain campaign said the comments were the latest shift in Obama's position on Iraq toward his opponent's view that troop withdrawals must be based on security conditions.

i wish they'd just skip the boring Conventions and just get to the debates.. we need about two of them a week til November.

lay it all out. give them each 3 minutes to respond to each question and go thru the roster of issues that voters want to hear about.

they dont need to waste money on conventions.. we know who each side has, let's get on with it.

Too late, he's on the record as saying 16 months, and that's what'll he'll be held to, 16 months.

I'm beyond being fed up with these Dems/libs stating 50 different positions on the same issue in an attempt to not be held to any.  He said 16mo., then 16 it is.  They come back with "He modified his stance, etc...), no quarter will be given.  He said 16 mo., he didn't do it, so the trash Obamessiah lied.  End of story.
