You know what? I've found I like giving things away.

I first mainly did it when I had to downsize from a large 6,000 sqft house (where I had my office as well) and gave a lot of the equipment to a local nonprofit school.

I need to start downsizing again and am again giving it away to schools and helpful charities. Even though I can sell this stuff, and could certainly use the money, I just prefer to give it to places that can't otherwise afford it. My piano, pretty much the last thing in the world I'd get rid of, I'm donating to my son's (prior - he graduated) high school. Some of this stuff you can't just buy anymore, but I remember being thrilled when I found the secret piano hidden in my high school. I want to give someone else this thrill.

I'm not suggesting everyone do this, but sometimes you get to a point in your life where you have to reduce your footprint, and rather than just put this stuff on eBay, I'd rather give to the community. If, at some point in your life, you have the opportunity to pay it forward, I just can say it can be very internally rewarding.

May you all know peace.

I call this a bouncy because DUmmies take. They do not give. Or its just bragging.

6k is the lot size.
Failed to start with "so".
If there's giving involved, there's a divorce involved.
Sucky bouncy. Zero bongs.  :diebouncy: :nobong:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I remember the last time had a piano to get rid of.  Darn near had to pay to get rid of it.  Must have contacted a dozen places to donate:  No, thanks we don't need no more stinkin' piano donations!!  Finally found a guy with kids wanting to learn to play with several strong friends, piano jacks, and a truck.  (I have gotten rid of two pianos in my life, neither was all that pleasant an experience.)

That said, I am in the process of downsizing as well.  Some stuff will sell, some will be donated, other stuff will be put on the curb and listed as a come an get it on the neighborhood boards. More will relegated to the landfill.  Moving and storage costs can be reduced if you plan ahead.  I know people who shipped a rock collection (not precious stones, just rocks they fancied) and another who shipped an enormous collection of National Geographic. But to each his own I guess.

How much? And forget Chris. His license is suspended and he'd have to borrow money from his ex-wife. You don't want that for him. Trust me. :whistling:
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

The first "downsize" was likely walking away from a mortgage.

The current one is whoever owns the place it has been bumming room and board from is evicting it.

My first car was a '65 Cuda. Swimming pool blue, with the fastback window. I jacked up the rear end and put 60s on the back- yeah, it was just a slant 6 with three on the tree, but it sure was fun!

If truth be told this began as  project to build a prodified slant six engine but that part of the project kept getting put on hold.

then too,  there is the Aussie version ...

300hp would have been more than enough to light up those 60's  :)

Thats not true. They love to give away their debt to others.

Taking the DU OPer at his/her word, (s)he can give away all the stuff (s)he wants, IMO, so long as the stuff is ONLY his/her own!
