San Bernardino killers were monsters — but one of their victims was just as bigoted
They were two hate-filled, bigoted municipal employees interacting in one department. Now 13 innocent people are dead in unspeakable carnage.

One man spent his free time writing frightening, NRA-loving, hate-filled screeds on Facebook about the other’s religion. The other man quietly stewed and brewed his bigotry, collecting the kind of arsenal that the Facebook poster would have envied. What they didn’t realize is that except for their different religions they were in many ways similar men who even had the same job.

One man, the Muslim, was a loser who had to travel all the way to Pakistan to get himself an email bride. (I refuse to add to their fame by using the killer and his murderous wife’s names.)

The other man, the victim, Nicholas Thalasinos, was a radical Born Again Christian/Messianic Jew, who also connected with his future wife online and had traveled across the country to meet her. The killer, however, became half of an Islamic Bonnie & Clyde, while the other died as the male equivalent of Pamela Geller. The killers deserve every disgusting adjective thrown at them. And more.

But the victim is also inaccurately being eulogized as a kind and loving religious man.

Some days there are no words for how repulsive these maggots are.

This is the second thread I've seen the "Jew deserved it" argument. The other one defended his death by saying "he was a Messianic Jew", as if that somehow justified his murder. Nobody deserves to die for their opinions. There is a huge difference between bigotry that ends at words and bigotry that ends in massacres. Murderers and people with offensive opinions have nothing to do with one another.

Let me make this very simple to the sickos on DU who defend murderers: If your first response to a terrorist attack is to blame the victims, you are a terrorist sympathizer and need booting from this forum ASAP. If your defense of those murderers includes justifications involving the victim's Jewish beliefs, you're also an antisemite.

Skinner: Do something about these types. Your forum is starting to resemble a whacko hate site.

That OP was an article published in the New York Daily News by a writer named Linda Stasi. I saw it early this a.m. and wondered how long it would be before it showed up on DU, and what the reaction would be. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many DUmmies thought it was outrageous and way over the line.

One guy is a Christian, found his wife online and travelled several states away to marry her, owns guns and verbally defends his right to do so, evangelizes for his faith through verbal persuasion, and (probably) "attacks" Islam by quoting from the Qur'an itself and citing the history of southwestern and southern Asia.

The other guy found his jihadi wife online and went to another continent to bring her into the US, collects weapons and modifies them to shoot full-automatic, builds pipe bombs with remote triggers, and "evangelizes" for Islam with those guns and bombs.

And philosslayer believes they are morally equivalent? I'm almost surprised DU-folk aren't buying it. philosslayer demonstrates the magnitude of anti-Semitism and Christophobia that is current and tolerated (though sometimes reproved) among Libs & Progs. Charming.
