Is there any evidence this is tied to international terrorism?
...you'd think if that was the case, it would've been leaked by now. We knew within hours that ISIS was responsible for Paris. Yet nothing here.

There is no question this is terrorism - just as the attack in Colorado Springs last Friday was. But how we go forward will depend on whether it's domestic or international.

Sure, this attack might be religiously driven. But that doesn't make it ISIS or al-Qaeda. I mean, terrorism is generally rooted in ideological or religious beliefs anyway, right?

The difference, I guess, is that these people have foreign names. It sounds like at least the main suspect is a U.S. citizen, so, again, domestic it would seem.

But that name is something that changes perception. It's interesting watching the outcry toward this, demanding we further erode the rights of Muslims, even using this to attack Syrian refugees (ridiculous) compared to much of what we saw last week with Colorado Springs.

Religious fundamentalism IS a threat to the United States. But so is political extremism.

I just wish we were more aggressive toward the latter as we are toward the former instead of writing it off as always just being a lone wolf or a disturbed individual.

Convoluted but it is a primitive after all.
Let the rewrite of all they have been saying for the last 5 days begin.

1. Currently there is no reported tie to international terrorism.

Currently there is no indication that this is domestic terrorism either.
Since the motive is currently unknown, there can be no claim of terrorism since that claim would require knowing the motive of the attack.

Haven`t been around much lately I guess.

2. I just wonder if it was a true terrorism. We would have had other incidences throughout the country

I guess Georgia had a shooting today but not sure if it was a classified a terror attack. I think if ISIS or whatever group doesn't take responsibility then it is POSSIBLE that it was a stand alone group that may or may not be terrorists. Over the next few days we will have more then enough information to digest and figure out.

3. This is why I do not play the guessing game anymore

and when I posed the SPECULATION that this was internal and could be RW, I labelled as such.

The speculation is wild though... and at this point quite entertaining, if at times I want to hit my head on the wall.

10. My guess is they are "lone wolves" who likely sympathized with terror groups

That's my guess right now.

I don't think it's necessarily "workplace violence," because I don't know if I ever heard of a case where a disgruntled worker who walks out and then walks back in with partners to shoot up the place. That just doesn't make sense.

It makes more sense that these two were lone wolves who felt inspired by ISIS or some other terror group. That wouldn't be odd. ISIS puts a lot of time and effort in their internet propaganda. Lone wolves are probably more scary from a law enforcement perspective because they are difficult to track. They won't be on any watch list.

36. Let the FBI go through their computers and devices

That should help explain the motive or lack of one maybe.

The law enforcement agencies haven't even collected or analyzed all the evidence yet. What would a lack of or the existence of a certain kind of evidence prove at this point anyway? Way to early to determine anything.

You pieces of shit are just repulsive.

Same old, same old...

A crazy lone gunman gets holed up in a Planned Parenthood and starts shooting outside instead of at the doctors, and he is a 'Domestic Terrorist', cries of 'Stochastic Terrorism' etc..

A heavily armed group of three gunmen enter a building, specifically target a group of government employees having a holiday party, and leave. They may have been carrying assorted IEDs with them.

It is determined at least two of them are Muslim. ISIS Tweets their approval. Are they terrorists ? Not according to the DUmp.

This is from a related thread - with a primitive comment so crazed that it stands alone.

6. I know they don't have any idea about motivation

but I wonder whether they were responding to calls from ISIS for their fans to do this in the US - not following orders, just a general call for independently conducted terror.

This is just a question, not trying to make any unfair assumptions that would be disparaging to either the killers or to ISIS.

Speaking of DD-Land memory ...

Nearly 8 years ago Matthew J. Murray killed two staff members at a Youth With A Mission base in Arvada, CO (near Denver), and then drove south to Colorado Springs, where he killed two more at New Life Church before killing himself after an armed church member wounded him.

I wonder ...

How many DU-folk were grave-dancing, saying that the YWAM staff people and/or church members deserved it? How many were chortling at that YWAM base having previously tried to help Murray, rejoicing that they had been killed by "one of their own".

Were r1 or Coloradan TMN on DU at the time?

I could SPECULATE that these were JIHADI TIME TRAVELERS who have come back to the year 2015 to kill the future mother of the man who will bring down the Caliphate. Considering the proof that both Nadin has for her speculation and I have for mine they are equally as likely to be accurate portrayals of what really happened.

And while idiots sit around wondering if this could be lone wolves influenced by Islamic jihad, other lone wolves and those funded and organized by ISIS, al-Qaeda and others are busy planning their next attack making sure to leave just enough wiggle room for idiots to continue debating whether these individual or groups are being influenced by Islamic jihad.

Were r1 or Coloradan TMN on DU at the time?

I remember that all of that was indeed the case over at the DUmp. When news of the shooting first broke out, the DUmmies showed their typical compassion and sensitivity with considerate, warm- hearted comments like "I guess God was out having a cigarette break when it happened." Then, as more of the facts behind the shooting were brought to light (i.e. the rambling, massively anti- Christian online manifesto Murray wrote right before the shooting was posted on the DUmp, and it was revealed that Murray was gay), the DUchebaggery sunk to whole new lows. In one DU thread after another, the DUmmies openly portrayed Murray as a brave and noble hero standing up for gay rights, openly portrayed the churchgoers he targeted as a bunch of evil fundie fanatics who all deserved to die, and openly portrayed the security guard who stopped Murray's rampage as a bloodthirsty lunatic. Yes, that's right, in the ultimate demonstration of DU's @$$- backwards concepts of justice and morality, the nutcase who killed four unarmed people (Including two teenaged girls, apparently) in two separate shootings was portrayed as a hero and the church security guard who risked her own life to stop him from hurting anyone else was portrayed as a monster.
It perfectly shows why I believe liberals should have as little control/ influence over our justice system as possible.
