Ken Burch posts a pair of threads with "Three Things" in each of them, to make life better for the warring Clintonistas and Bernouts. These threads aren't equal..
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251801986 - Directed at the Clintonistas
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251801997 - Directed at other Bernouts.
From the first thread..
1) Stop acting like Bernie has no right to even be running.
Waaaaaahh!
2) Admit Bernie is as good on racial justice issues as anyone else in the Democratic race.
Waaaaaaahhh!
3) Quit mocking the very idea that Bernie could get nominated. There's a long time to go and the contest is far from settled.
Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!11!!!
On to the second.
1) Don't assume HRC supporters aren't progressive. It's alright to politely ask how they square backing the establishment candidate with being progressive, but ask those questions with respect.
In other words, use typical MSM tactics to prove your point. - But prove it anyway.
2) Ease back on the alert-swarming. Better to disprove the arguments made by HRC supporters(which is fairly easy to do most of the time) than to reflexively seek to close threads, even inflammatory ones.
"Ease Back" - Not "stop" - So, still alert swarm, but just not as often.. I can only presume from the rest of the point that the appropriate time for an alert swarm is when the Bernouts can't win via argument.
3) Get it straight on the "Bernie and race" arguments. They aren't calling Bernie a racist, they are saying he hasn't said enough on racial issues. And not everyone saying this is an HRC supporter. A significant number are uncommitted PoC voters that we can still win over, but in communicating on that, we need to make it clear that we never sound like we are shouting anyone down. It is
perfectly natural for PoC to be sensitive to anything that makes it sound like race as an issue is being put on the backburner.
Pandering to "PoC" - as they are such delicate little flowers, that 'shouting down' people calling Sanders a cracka-ass honky is likely to send them scurrying away to their 'safe spaces', and not convince them to vote for him.
Yeah. What a delightful, unbiased message Ken Burch has shared.
