Wiping out an American city, much less the largest ones, requires either blast yields well beyond the capability of any terrorist organization, or numbers of nuclear weapons that would make the terrorist organization one of the largest nuclear powers on the planet. This is particularly true of major cities such as Atlanta, Houston, and LA, which are defined by their suburban sprawl.

Yeah.  It would only take one successful detonation, not even a totaled city, to plunge us into economic catastrophe.  There would be no certainty that there weren't more out there, and movement including goods distribution would be locked in a police-state grip that would shock Stalin.

Those sites are frightening to look at even when you use the smallest yield. Whats worse is of course the biggest one listed would destroy everything in a 20-25 mile radius just from the blast. Just where I happen to live. Living so close to STRATCOM HQ is not fun with Russia having targeted the area for years during the Cold War and probably still does even if they say otherwise.
