I'm supposed to be impressed with Queen Elizabeth's milestone?

Longest-serving monarch (except Victoria). Wow.

I think if I was a gazillionaire who lived off the public, yet had absolutely no responsibility other than to show up at fancy dinners, or apologize for my asshole children every now and then, then I might "serve" my people for over 60 years as well.

Oh well. She lives on while we're still stuck with Mitch McConnell. I guess there are trade-offs.

This is too rich. Sounds like democrats in DC.

When did Hillary change her name to Elizabeth?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

The royal families budget is much less than what Obama and Michelle spend on vacations in a year.

Quote
Big-spending Obamas cost 23 times more than British royal family
When compared to the cost of maintaining the first family, the British royal family members are a bunch of outright pikers.
We use the phrase, “live like a king,” to describe the epitome of living large. When we do so, we’re talking real mansions — not the fake “McMansions” popular among today’s nouveau riche. Also included are the second and third homes, annual European vacations, exotic cars, fancy yachts and private jets — the whole schemer.

But what would it take to live not “like a king,” but as a king?

According to Wikipedia, that would be 40 million pounds, or about $60 million. Now that’s what I call living, something a guy could get used to. But as it turns out, it’s nothing as compared to what the first family spends.

The cost of maintaining our own royal family — the Obamas — is a whopping $1.4 billion with a “B,” as reported by the National Review. That means that Queen Elizabeth and her family’s expenses are a mere 4.3 percent of the Obama clan. Stated differently, the Obamas spend more than 23 times what the British royal family does.

I hate how the owebuma's abuse the American taxpayer, but before we can compare them to the Queen of England we need to convert to per capita.
That would be a more fair way to compare apples to apples.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I don't expect him to be impressed by anything but his own opinions. Libs think being snotty about everything makes them all profound & smart & stuff but they really just sound like assholes.

I see A-"man" never heard the old saying to the effect that if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all. How does Queen Elizabeth's reign - or even her existence - affect A-"man"?! There must be scores of tin-pot-monster dictators in this world who are worse than her and who affect his existence, in some small way, far more than Queen Elizabeth, yet he rails on her? ::)

Atman was gone for a while, but I figured he'd be back, and when he was, he'd gripe about not being the center of attention on something, which is the case here.  He's just upset that someone else got some attention, and it wasn't him.

You may be on to something there, sir.

It's well-known in the Atman family, who wears the pants.

However, I don't think it's because she's a domineering person with a "need" to run things; I suspect rather more that it's one of those things one does because the other guy won't.

33. Elizabeth herself may be a take it or leave it monarch

But monarchy of any kind is awful and ridiculously inequitable, especially one as colonial and repressive as the British one. I feel for the people of the UK (and the former British Empire) who have suffered far too long under the boot heels of monarchist tyrants.

Thankfully the United States rid ourselves of that wretched system in 1776.

Any day now good King Richard will return from the Crusades and topple the usurper Prince John and his Norman cronies and restore their estates to the rightful owners, the Saxon nobles.  Until then, we must resist the boot heels of monarchist tyrants.
We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.

Do any of these morons know enough of English History to know they haven't had a reigning monarch - i.e. exercising full governing power - since the 17th Century?
