It is a phenomenon of race relations today: Many white people can't or won't grapple openly with the issue of race.

Black people tend to speak freely about race, as if on familiar ground.

But more often than not, white people steer clear of an exchange when it seems their racial values will be put under scrutiny....

"White people are very reluctant to discuss race and racism, and their reluctance is one of the primary barriers in terms of effecting some type of solution to the problem of race," said David Billings, a local white Methodist minister who conducts anti-racism workshops. "We are not brought up to discuss honestly our feelings about race."

And that's it. No other commentary, just that white people don't want to talk about race. Unless, of course, you're part of the DU Race Mafia, in which case ALL you talk about is race, and when you're not talking about it you sit in your honky haven and wonder what it would be like to be black. You know, Randy, like a time machine, only yours would be a Race Machine. You get in one portal, press the red, black, and green striped button, and you emerge from the other portal as a so-black-you're-crispy person, utterly washed of all your honky Original Sin of Privilege.

Golly, maybe white people don't feel like being hounded every day by people livid that a black person had to endure a foul smell on the subway or a delayed package from Amazon?

23. well, as a white woman, I have learned from thr DU community recently

that unless one is in 100% agreement with poc - they don't want to hear what white people have to say. OH NO YOU DI'INT! If one is not 100% in agreement-one is a white liberal racist (which has been made clear on DU- is worse than overt bigots who wear the white pointed hoods) or that one is white splaining and one's opinions, concerns and thoughts and experiences are dismissed as "fluffery". Yes, "fluffery" is the word that was used by one person who did not like what I had to say. WOW- someone says it like it is. Randy and Erich Bloodass will NOT approve.

In so many words it has been said here- that no matter what I or anyone else has done or experienced either as a white person or as a minority themselves throughout their lives to eliminate bigoted attitudes and eliminate racist systems both in themselves and others, it will never be enough. When in fact, my ancestors didn't come to this country until the early 1900's and were just as poor and powerless (and still are) to make changes to a system that was already in place when they got here.

I have come to the conclusion that unless I'm not tripping over myself trying to convince the poc here how not racist I am or that I don't hold bigoted attitudes (which by the way, I believe everyone does- including poc- and have admitted to myself in several posts- despite being married to a African American man and having a multi racial child), my thoughts, opinions and concerns are not welcome.

So no, I will not discuss race with people on DU who hide behind their keyboards and do nothing but accuse and demand that you agree with them no matter what they have to say and beg forgiveness from them for a system that for the most part our ancestors are responsible for.

What I will do- is continue to live life in the real world confront bigotry when I recognize it and allow all people to judge me by my character and the deeds I have performed there.

Exactly. The left and blacks in general want to blame all of their problems on white straight males, but they will accept not responsibility for their own situation. Until blacks can admit that welfare and black culture is the leading cause of their misery, there is no use for white people to even listen to them.

This is not a subject allowed on DU alas I engage in it In real time on the streets.

DU has a decreasing number of subject matter that can be discussed. And insults were hurled at a minority as well which was the height of irony.

I run stories regularly that "the group" supposedly is interested in. I just don't, will not, post them here either

I believe she considers herself a latina. I think if you translate the sentence "And one in that crowd has called a Latina, that be me, racist and white supremacist" from the nadinese into English it would read along the lines of: Even though I am a Latina someone in that crowd called me a racist and white supremacist.

Just pure speculation on my part since we are dealing with nadinese. A language in which nothing is as it seems.
