In the White People Don't Want to Talk About It, as predicted, Randy shows up and starts bullying white people around. Randy, for those of you in need of a refresher course, is a wealthy white aging heir of a pretty decent business in a place not known for its volume of "AfAms" (Randy's shorthand for black folks). For years, Randy has bought and sold high end Swiss watches, and his preference is clearly for Rolexes.
All of this, of course, qualifies and indeed entitles Randy to stink up every DU thread about race with his endless, pointless chiding of other DUmmies. At the slightest provocation he clucks about their White Privilege, yet I have yet to find one instance of him admitting that among DUmmies, he's among the most privileged, having inherited a going concern. I don't see other DUmmies buying and selling watches that retail for nearly $10,000, but somehow Randy has appointed himself the DU White Privilege Hall Monitor. Randy has several sock puppets on DU, the most notable of which is "NoJusticeNoPeace," and Randy has posted in the "AfAm" forum as though these are two distinct people.
Randy is in favor of reparations, though of course the proceeds from his watch sales accrue to him alone.
These and other behaviors make Randy a hypocrite and an asshole, and I have had a great deal of fun and have learned enough about the mentally ill to earn an honorary doctorate in Psychiatry. Randy imagines that we are a threat to him, when at the same time he regularly issues threats to anyone adverse to his odd set of values and desires. In reality, we are no more a threat Randy than naturists are to rare birds: we wish to ogle and to document, but not to disturb. The key difference is that birds don't express desires to jail/sue/kill their putative rivals.
All of that said, of course Randy can't resist sticking his cracka-ass nose in the thread, as a reply to another CC favorite, Nads. How much if a pompous, bloviating asshole is Randy?

that ANY mention of race automatically brands one as a racist. If I notice that the person sitting next to me on the bus is black (I'm white), that means I'm a racist. If I mention that my new neighbors are black (they are), that means I'm a racist. If I notice that the guys waiting for work at Home Depot are Latino, that means I'm a racist. And on and on. ANY acknowledgment that everybody isn't the same is racist. And that is why some white people don't want to talk about it. The discussion automatically devolves into finger-pointing and holier-than-thou posturing, so why bother?
